Cheap, but better than nothing
I purchased these as my son is starting to play football after school and the club requested they all get shin pads.I feel that these offer little in the way of protection, but they are better than nothing.They do the job, but I don't think they are very comfortable and if he keeps playing I will 100% be upgrading them and keeping these as back ups.You do get what you pay for I think with these.
