Great product, even better customer service
The media could not be loaded. Very good battery motors. Make sure the higbee hub is in the same room or very near.In the package - one motor. The motor has 2 signal wires hanging out of the drive end. One pivot end insert for the blind tube - its a plastic insert with a round metal stub that sits in the pivot bracket. 2 brackets, a fixed end bracket with a flat tab that the motor slides over and a pivot side bracket with a plastic locking tab that you push down once the pivot stub is inserted. 2 cords. One 41” USB to mini USB to charge motor and one 80” USB male to USB female as an extension (so ~120” or cord length for those higher blinds. The provided cords are heavy duty and instructions say to use them - my guess is that it is related to amperage (current) needed to charge motor.Installation - these can be outside mounted or inside mounted. The brackets come with holes to accommodate both types of mounting. I installed them on the inside of the window. After looking forever to find a DIY solution for roller blind tubes I bought the METech tubes on Amazon. They were WELL worth the price and they come with bottom weights that look great. The motor hardware fit perfectly inside the tubes. I cut the tubes and fabric 1 1/8 in shorter than the exact opening width. This allowed a perfect fit for the blinds on the brackets. I position the battery charging port so that I could easily access them (front facing) which positions the wires to the back. I then placed a small piece of of double sided tape on the window frame and tucked the wires against the tape so they could not get caught in the blind as it moves (we used a mesh type fabric for the blind so the edges are a bit rough)Operation - I bought 5 motor only and 1 motor/9 channel remote, for a total of 6 motors. The connected perfectly with the instructions. Although the remote looks different that that in the instructions. The basic functions are intuitive , you’ll figure it out. The directions are easy enough to follow. When you charge the motor the red light will go out once charged. Use the ‘bump’ buttons (circle with arrow looking buttons) to get the blind in the exact open/closed position to set the motor limits. I had to hold the 50% button for a few seconds before the motor would move.Alexa - You must have a higbee hub. I struggled with the first hud that I bought on Amazon (not all hubs are equal!) and that’s where their customer service was awesome! I sent a note via Amazon messages and they got me lined up with the right hub and and I was able to connect thru the SmartLife app. NOTE - the hub must be close to the blinds, at least for me it did. 2 rooms away just did not cut it. I used a plug-in WiFi extender and plugged the hub LAN line into the extender and located in the same room as the blinds. Voila, all is good. Once connected I used the remote to position the blind where I wanted it in the closed position and then used the ‘setting’ in the app and clicked on ‘set lower limit’. Repeat for the open position. I created a routine in Alexa and the blinds open and close on command. When connecting to hub the blue light initially blinks but then goes out; it does not stay blinking like most Bluetooth devices but the unit is still in paring mode. Interestingly I found that once I put the motor in pairing mode I hit the up or down button on the remote and that seemed to help the connection (but that may have just been coincidence, as I was trying everything to connect them until I moved the hub into the same room)

Updated Review - Thank you to Blindsmart for listening and asssisting with my issue.
Original Review:These work when setup with the remote. They will NOT work with Alexa even if you have a Zigbee capable ECHO device. You MUST buy THEIR Zigbee hub to get them to work with Alexa. This is absolutely ridiculous. After researching why it wasn't working, I found on Tuya's website forum that they, themselves, indicate they have "private" code written into their implementation of Zigbee, which makes them non-standard. Gave them 2 stars because they do work with the remotes and the instructions were fairly decent.Updated Review:After my review above, a Blindsmart customer representative contacted me to help work through the issue I was having. I did indeed require a Tuya compatible Zigbee hub. But based on my feedback, they have added additional verbiage in their listing to ensure it's very clear what is required to use the smart function of these motors for future buyers. They also reached out daily to see if there was anything they could do to assist while I waited for my zigbee hub. To me, that is great customer services..Once connected to the app, the settings available with their blind motors is much nicer than the other manufacturers motors. I will likely end up ordering a couple more of these motors to replace the other brands I have.Thank you to Blindsmart for providing great customer services and continuing to check in along the way while I sorted through things.

Cheap and only works and charges half the time
Used for roller shades. It has not charges half the time because the charge port is so sloppy. I have purchased 14 of these and only have 8 blinds. 4 have been replaced and 2 more need it. Will be finding a different brand.

Wow Excellent Upgrade! Extra Needed for Smart Function. May need modifications.
This upgrade made me smile when I got it installed and functioning! I had some dilemmas and questions before purchasing and went with my gut on multiple variations of their products. My tube was 37mm inner diameter but the Outer Diameter was 40mm. This manufacturer was saying to measure O.D. in it's products but I beg to differ. I settled on the 36mm-38mm Rechargeable 1-Channel remote with Zigbee-ready for my application. Manufacturer states the max weight of ~9lbs of fabric and up to ~10ft of shade. I had a roller shade covering the 8ft patio door, while bringing it down the thing weighed more than 10lbs, hard to tell how much just the fabric weighed. But it worked! In Package: 1x 38mm Rechargeable Tube Motor, 1x Micro-USB to USB-A Charging cable, 1x Long USB-A Extension, 2x Brackets to hold the motor gear in place, 1x Gear End Cap, 1x Remote with holder bracket and mounting hardware.Note: The 2x brackets and 1x end cap were made for new shade installations as shown in their installation video. I installed mine by replacing a pull rope mechanism on an existing custom double roller shade. For me, I took the shade down for this replacement, since your shade will fall after removing the L bracket which holds it up and in place. It is possible leaving it up if you know what you are doing. I then unscrewed the cover on the rope mechanism side. You will see a metal L bracket similar to what they provide that holds the shade and rope gear mechanism in place. Using a screw driver, pry each side alternating till you are able to wiggle or pull the bracket out. Hold the shade firmly to the housing to make sure it does not come off the other end while you pry. Then pry in between the shade and the plastic gear mechanism holding the rope. You should be able to pop off the plastic gear and rope from your shade tube. Align the new tube and push all the way in, and the white part is flush with your tube and shade. (Make sure you have access to your reset button and charging port facing down). Reinsert your L Bracket to hold your shade and the motor to the housing. *I had some modifications for the bracket in my case.PROS:-Easy to insert into existing shade, and pairing with 1-channel remote.-Extra long USB charging cables.-Straight forward instructions on paper and here for setting the upper and lower limits with remote. I even set the middle limit or STOP as my favorite height setting. Note: STOP still works to stop the shade.-Decent movement speed, not the fastest but elegant and saves you an arm workout.-Used only 3M mount for the remote holder bracket. (Also came with two screws and anchor)CONS:-Brackets included are for new simple shade installs to the ceiling or wall, not for all existing custom shades you may already have. *The provided bracket was too wide at the base to fit into my shade housing base. But my old bracket was smaller and only able to hold the motor gear at the 10 and 2 position which caused slipping when the motor turned. You can mod their L bracket and cut the base to size. Instead, I used to use my old bracket to slide into the base of the shade housing to to provide the motor anchor point. Then I ended up using their bracket at the 9 and 3 position as needed, but right over my old bracket. So their bracket basically didn't let my anchor bracket slip. I didn't screw the new bracket to anything and it is just hanging up above my shade housing out of sight.-NEEDS their Tuya Zigbee Hub ~40$ if you want to use the smart app portion or smart device control. (I was able to add it to Amazon Echo Zigbee devices, but it only shows up as a plug that is non responsive. You need to add it to the Tuya or SmartLife App for it to be interactable with Alexa or Google. And it is only able to add the APPs if you first add their SPECIAL Tuya Zigbee Gateway Hub.)-Their 80%, 50%, and 20% open buttons are non programable. I assume it is based on your Limits you set. But after setting my limits, the 80% open was more like 65% open , their 50% open was more like 35% open. And 20% was maybe like 15%. I played around with my upper and lower limits to make it better.-Inching forward and reverse button is almost useless, only for inching and cannot hold it to keep it moving. Have to use other buttons then stop for faster function.-Slower movement than my usual super arm pulling workout.-No explanation for lights on motor, like what is double blinking red sometimes when I plug it in? Solid red is charging and turns off when full. I also found out Zigbee pairing light doesn't stay blinking blue like traditional pairing devices but will still be in pairing mode for awhile.Overall, I am happy with the product, It is definitely an upgrade to manual shades. A cool factor to it. Install is pretty straight forward unless you run into issues like me. Programing and functionality is great. Not so sure about their non-programable % buttons on the left. They did inform you on the need for their hub on product page for this specific motor. I am also not sure if their is additional programable functions on their app side compared to just the remote.

Nice addition to our local smart home.
Excellent blind, operates flawlessly through zigbee2mqtt and home assistant. Was able to modify my spring loaded roller blind to allow this to be installed on it. Works perfect. Only issue is the included remote seems to take a couple presses sometimes before it reacts.

Works great, awesome value
I started with the Eve MotionBlinds, but had to return it due to the broken Matter/Thread implementation. This blind/shade motor was relatively easy to install and setup, and connected easily to ZHA on Home Asisstant. It's quieter than the (much more expensive) Eve MotionBlinds, and was concerned it only had 0.8 nm of torque compared to 1.1 of the Eve MotionBlinds but it handles my (relatively heavy) shades really well and can't tell the difference. The instructions were a bit off but not hard to figure out. The cap didn't fit perfectly but a couple rubber bands did the trick.A few things to be aware of:- No battery entity available like the Eve, so we know when it's low in Home Assistant.- No external covers for the mounts available like the Eve one.- The 'setup' button is in the battery compartment, not noted in the instructions.

Works well
The media could not be loaded. I've been looking for a smart blind solution where I can re-use my existing roller blind, use HomeAssistant with, and not break a bank - and I am fairly pleased with this.It took me a while to find a curtain rod that's compatible, but I was able to find it by searching B099V4W7WV or metechs aluminum roller shade blind rod (I was able to cut it short by using a multitool). I feel like Tuya can help by either recommending a rod, or selling one directly at a reasonable price. It is probably possible to use it directly with ZHA (zigbee home auromation), and not use the Tuya hub, but as of now (2023/06/03) ZHA doesn't really know how to set limits so I decided to stuck with the Tuya hub (by connecting HomeAssistant to HomeKit controller to Tuya hub).

Small, powerful, quiet - and works without problems with ZHA on HomeAssistant
We absolutely love these blind motors. They are strong enough to operate even our wider, longer and heavier blinds. And they are relatively quiet. (Not quiet enough to operate them in the morning without waking you up - but quieter than the blind chain motors.)Setting them up on HomeAssistant with ZHA is a matter of minutes. The two things that could be improved: (1) Depending on which version you get, the manual at times can be a bit difficult to follow. (2) The solar panel does not always deliver enough power to keep the battery charged (e.g. after several rainy days). Trying to identify that an empty battery is the issue takes a while. And there is no clear instruction that explains that you need to charge the battery, then turn off the motor and turn it on again to make it respond to your ZigBee controller (ZHA).Still, despite these, this is one of the best investments we made. We love the fact that all our blinds now automatically operate depending on sun-rise/sunset and other events (which is not possible with just the remote, but through the ZigBee interface/ZHA with HomeAssistant).

No Consistant Control
They work well when they work. I have 2 of these and both have had the same problem. The may work for 10 days or so and then one stops working. Get it working and then the other will quit. They are set up on a schedule. This time the remote lost connection so had to reconnect them with the remote and now only one blind will work, can't get the other to work. They have only been connected for 4 months so I am not able to return the defective one. I'll start shopping for someone else product I guess. The app is also flakey, it usually doesn't show the correct blind position and sometimes it won't control the blinds, again inconsistent.
