Full strength Tamarind Som Drinking Vinegar is complex with notes of cinnamon and allspice. Tamarind Som has a dry finish and mild acidity. Dilute 1 part Tamarind Som to 4 parts soda water to make an all natural soda or use creatively in cocktails and food preparation Made in Portland, OR 16 Fl Oz. bottle Review: good way to get ginger in your diet - If you want ginger in your diet, this is one good way to get it. Pour it on virtually anything! Not as astringent as red wine vinegar, or apple cider vinegar, and slightly sweeter. Review: Good quality but some of the flavors were disgusting - I should have looked more carefully. Two of flavors were "Thai Basil" and ginger something-or-other. Just the smell of the basil makes you want to gag.

Delicious flavoring agent
I ordered it first because it was called for in a pro bartenderโs promising nonalcoholic drink recipe and I have reordered it because I love it. I think it adds a great touch to bubbly things like seltzer, tonic and many other liquids that arenโt very sweet. It now has its own place in my flavoring cabinet.

Unique quality beverage
Pok Pok is a Portland specialty item, and it was great to find a reasonable price on this favorite item. Looks expensive, but we use this concentrate with sparkling water or lemonade and it is incredibly refreshing and the bottles last awhile. Better than other drinking vinegars found at Whole Foods.

Makes amazing cocktail/mocktails
These are from my favorite (but sadly now defunct) thai restaurant in Portland OR called Pok Pok. Mix with a citrus or berry flavored vodka + fizzy water and 1/2 oz of the vinegar (I like to combine the flavors for even more interesting flavor combos : berry+basil+ginger, etc. Will definitely be buying more, but they ARE very expensive if you're planning to entertain a lot of people (1 mini bottle only makes 8 drinks). Wish they had a lemongrass flavor.

Good Flavor
Tastes surprisingly better than initially anticipated. I initially bought this to use as a mixer with cocktails, but after reading up on the health benefits of turmeric, I ended up taking about half an ounce daily. Now it's become a part of my morning routine.

I have been ordering this for about six months and find the Tamarind to be the best so far
I found tasting vinegar in an obscure Asian restaurant in Portland. The taste was so unusual, refreshing and clean. Maybe a little healthy as well. I have been ordering this for about six months and find the Tamarind to be the best so far. Very different from your everyday fruity drinking vinegar.

Pok Pok cordials
I've been drinking the Pok Pok vinegars for several years and love them. Recently they stopped making what they call "drinking vinegars" and now call their vinegar drinks "cordials". The gift pack I ordered contains the new cordials. They taste the same which is a positive. The cordials, however, are much more expensive. A 3 pack of the old drinking vinegars was between $35 and $42 while the cordial 3 pack is about $54. I'm not sure it's worth it but haven't found a replacement drink.
