Nikon D3200 Digital Field Guide

Great easy to understand all the features of the D3200. There are many! The best book I have purchased on "basic" photography and a tech manual on the D3200!

Content is good but the bonus Gray and Color Check Card advertised was NOT included with my original order or my replacement order. The book is not shrink-wrapped. From the Amazon description:"Sized to fit in a camera bag, the book includes a bonus gray and color checker card to help dSLR newcomers capture perfect white balance and color every time."The paper used is thin and uncoated so the images are not optimal.

There is a lot of information here that you do not get from the product manual and it is easy to read and understand. The only thing that I do not like is that there was not enough info on properly using the video function and the recommended method of using the manual method ruins your movies especially on very low light situations.

I am new to Digital Cameras and was very glad to have this reference book written just for my new camera. It is very helpful to a novas like me. I have used it quite a bit, and it has really been a great help. My thanks to Mr. Hess for taking the time to put this information out there.

Very happy w/ this manual. Arrived well packaged and in good condition. Very easy to read/understand and fully guides you through the options and operation of the camera. A 'must have' book to accompany your camera. A good shopping experience.

When I purchased the Nikon D3200, I also purchased three different books to help me understand how to best use the camera. This book does a good job of explaining the various camera settings and how to use them. The main fault I have with this book is that the author also wants to provide an introduction to photography in general. While I believe that laudatory, my goal was to better understand the camera. I would have preferred more discussion about the camera itself along with recommendations regarding the various settings.H. Stern

This book provides a good overview of the camera. I read it before getting the camera. Upon the cameras arrival, I already understood a lot of the features and controls of the camera. This book made it simple to then sit down with the camera and explore. I highly recommend this book.

This little book has genuinely transformed the pictures I take. Within fifteen minutes I was producing incredible photographs with a camera i was close to passing over. Simple little tricks, explanations of the settings, and instant access to how to use the dials to get great shots.Since using this book people have frequently commented on the quality of my photography - I feel like I'm faking it because I'm just using the simple advice this book provides. If you want to make the most of this fantastic camera, buy this book. Even now I still go back to it to check the odd thing. I keep it in my camera case.

The manual that comes with the D3200 is actually very good for a manual that comes with the camera. BUT, this book takes things in a much more sensible order and shows lots of examples of how to do things and the examples are the big winner. I am working my way through the book at lunchtimes, with the camera on the desk and doing the bits as described. Good easy style. Very pleased and I can recommend this as a useful addition to the D3200 library.

Decided to purchase this book after buying my first digital camera. The layout is very logical and the author drills into functionality in a logical and understandible manner. The sections that I found most use were where the author reviewed the different programmes on the camera, explaining what each programme mode did, gave photo examples examples and discussed all aspects of the photograph, e.g. lens, ISO sensitivity, aperture, etc. The analysis of night time photography was very helpful and has helped me to improve the quality of my photgraphs. The book has also enabled me to be more experimental in my approach and to be iterative in my photo taking, i.e. take a photo, review, change depth of field, take photo, etc.

I did not know which manual to buy at first. I was influenced mainly by customer reviews.At first reading it seems ideal for what want out of it.I do find most of the book easy to use, and particularly the sample photographs with camera settings.I shall re-review in 6 months time when I am fully conversant with the contents.Most indications now suggest it was an excellent buy for what I want

I find the book is going to help me greatly, however there was no colour card for me to use as a reference when trying out different photographs.
