Save Your Money
Not sure why this book was so highly rated. I was disappointed and found it of no value.

Grand Motivational
I love this book. I never wanted it to finish, so I read it extra slow. The book is not only motivating but also encourages you to have an attitude to look for adventures all around.Like someone said that 'We are striving for comfort all the time. But it kills you.' Similarly, if you strive for adventures, adventures will make life rich, colorful and happy.

Inspiring
If you loved Humphreys' book "Microadventures" you'll love this one too. This book is very inspiring and has a lot of great information about planning and executing a large or longer term adventure trip. Humphreys shares a ton of knowledge from his extensive experience. Anyone will want to drop their normal day to day routine and go for an adventure after reading this book.

Inspirational, informative, great photos
An informative, inspirational book by a respected adventurer who's humble enough to include the perspectives of many other adventurers. If you are looking for a book to ignite your wanderlust I strongly recommend this one.

Good inspiration for the traveler
This is an inspiring book for someone who wants to do more off the beaten trail traveling. I think it could've benefitted from more practical tips.

Enjoyable but a bit disjointed
Enjoyable as are all his books. But not as good as Microadventures, which seemed more creative (the Kindle edition especially, with interactive videos). This one seemed too much like a collection of blog posts, a bit disjointed. But still, I support anything Alastair Humphreys is willing to do.

An Inspirational book not just for the young but also for the elderly
I first heard about Alastair just after he had cycled around the world. I bought both his books about the trip and also went to one of his inspirational talks. I also watched his Youtube videos which inspired me to start making my own Youtube (now over 100). I was 57 at the time and have now turned 66. I still feel inspired by Alastair and last year cycled almost 1500 miles around the EU with two friends. I bought this book to see if I could be inspired to do anything else extraordinary for a pensioner. I really enjoyed the book as Alastair has spent a considerable time researching many adventurers - I never knew there were so many with so many ideas. I see no reason why this book should be appeal to other pensioners - I would hope this book would inspire a lust for adventure in the elderly. Perhaps he should try to get this book in the SAGA magazine - it could bring health back to the elderly!

Pretty great book
This book is the exact opposite of Alastairs micro adventures book. This book includes tips and stories on people doing epic adventures from cycling the world, climbing Everest, rowing across the ocean and even going into space (I don't think Alastairs done that yet) Even if you don't plan on having a big adventure like in this book (although you probably should) it's a great read with wonderful pictures and great stories

Before the end you'll be packing for your own adventure!
Another great book from Alastair - one of his best. It is full of passion and enthusiasm for adventuring. The format is very accessible. You get a truthful view of different types of adventure from those who have executed them. The photographs, the layout and the upbeat writing are a joy to read whether you are planning an adventure of your own or just want to enjoy the challenges of others. A must read. Buy it now!

A truly life-changing book, you'll be off on a Grand Adventure in no time after reading it.
Before buying this book I had been following a number of adventurers online, my jealousy growing as they embarked on various expeditions around the world. But after reading the multitude of stories about how normal people, genuinely normal people, managed to achieve incredible adventures by making that first step, I booked the flights for my first adventure. It doesn't matter who you are, you can do something amazing, and this book has all the inspiration and advice you need to get you out of your front door and go on the trip of a lifetime. I haven't even done my first adventure yet but I've already started planning bigger and harder challenges for next year.Buy this book.
