Exactly as I expected and good price
Works exactly as you'd expect. I used it to hook up a record play to a sound bar. Sound output sounds good and the built feels like it's built well. Can't beat it for the price.

convenient but clips easily
Convenient little device for you want tosslink or optical in a pinch. Super low headroom though. It's very easy to clip the input. I'm already thinking about upgrading.

stopped working after 3 months. buyer beware
after 3 months of use it just stopped working, I definitely can confirm it's the actual unit and not my optical cables or my input to it as I tested everything else and they work just fine. I guess you get what you pay for right?

Solved older TV to older sound bar: controlling volume with TV remote
I use this converter between the headphone output of an older Element TV and the digital optical-to-HDMI adapter input of an older Sonos Arc sound bar.It works great, so the TV remote is able to adjust the volume. My son gave us the TV and the sound bar, both used, and he connected them with the optical output from the TV. That worked, but we needed to use the Sonos app to control volume. Now the TV remote controls volume, and sound quality is fine!

3.5mm feed to a optical soundbar and works great!
I didn't think this would sound any good but I needed it to make it work with my setup. But I was shocked that the audio actually sounded great when converting 3.5mm to optical. Fair warning the type of 3.5mm cable really made a difference and type of optical helped but the 3.5mm really was the main difference at least for me.Great Analog to Digital converter!
