What a great book!!! Brilliant articulation, remarkable story telling, plots fantastically connected to each other.I was never a fan of Indian novelist. Thanks to Ashwin sir for making me fall in love with the one. I ordered another book ,The Magicians of Mazda , as I was halfway down The Vault Of Vishnu.Looking forward to finish all his books in the Bharat Series.

As usual Ashwin Sanghi tells a story emanating from a deep research on Chinese traveler and Chinese civilization. You will need help from Google search to keep your personal research on while reading the book. Quite interesting and informative indeed.

Didn't live up to the hype. Had a quite abrupt ending albeit happy ending which seemed too good to be true. But overall a good book.

(just to clarify, the novel was published in January while the events we are witnessing now in Ladakh materialized much later).It was the mother of all coincidences that after being fed up with all the rumours/propaganda/conspiracy theories being propagated by the media, internet warriors about the dumbfounding incidents on the Indo-China border and looking for an escape in the world of mythological fiction, I picked up this novel, only to be served with more of the same!The opening sequence is almost a retelling of the Galwan bloodbath; only difference being its setting is in Doklam. The Chinese soldiers seem to possess some seemingly supernatural abilities which makes them overpower and annihilate an Indian Forward Post. The incident is captured on camera and the Indian top brass assign Wg Cdr Pam Khurana (former pilot, now in the DRDO) to do whatever it takes to discover the source of the apparent Chinese superhuman abilities.Meanwhile, Ashwin sticks to his trademark style of alternating the current day events with a fictionalised narration of Hiuen Tsang's(we've read about him in our school history books) epic journey across China, Xinjiang, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, India spanning across 16 years ( 630-646 AD).As expected, the novel is a racy cocktail of real life events, mythology, history, modern science (AI, Robotics, Genetic Engineering) & espionage. The success or failure of such a venture always lies in how you connect all the dots, maintain the central theme and the pace. And I think the author did a good enough job of doing all that. At times, the older narrative did get a tad laboured and predictable but the monotony was broken by the events happening at a lively pace in the other narrative. The ending was satisfying enough and that makes a lot of difference.It certainly is one of his better novels though definitely not the best. As such, it is going to be very difficult for him to match or surpass his earlier masterpieces - 'The Rozabal Line' and 'Chanakya's Chant'. The events unfolding in Ladakh may just provide another reason to pick up this novel for people who like realistic fiction (with ample creative liberties ofcourse).Overall Rating - 4/5. Definitely Recommended!

It could have easily been an extraordinary tale of espionage and an exhilarating story of geo-political crisis but was plagued by short chapters (which didn't let you consume one scene entirely), constant change of emotions and scenes & a weird and unwanted tale from yesteryears.This novel had exponential potential, but sadly it was wasted. The last 100 odd pages elevated the story to great heights.

One can't deny his books are nail biting. He's always believed that Myth + History = Mystery.⁣⁣⁣⁣The Vault Of Vishnu's soul is Bio/Human engineering. The research work of Ashwin Sanghi is as enchanting as ever. Pretty cover is there too but the title is not apt. A phrase from a single sentence has been brought out & kept as title.⁣⁣⁣⁣There are several subplots running parallel to each other & their connection comes to light at the end via the iconic Ashwin Sanghi style. But The Vault Of Vishnu lacks the charm which was present in The Krishna Key & Chanakya's Chant. XuanZang journey feels like a travelogue and contributes nothing to the story. It's enough to know that he travels to India to take away an urn, Now! You can skip his entire portion. There are several questions which remains unanswered even after culmination. Many character's have been provided a vast back story even if they make a cameo appearance which was completely unnecessary.⁣⁣⁣⁣But it's undeniable that Ashwin is a master storyteller. An expert in Writing fast paced page turner thriller & blending several elements .His books gives a load of information too.⁣⁣⁣⁣Will I recommend it? Of Course. Who does not recommend Ashwin Sanghi?⁣ Those Who love his style,this can ba a one time fun read.Ok

This was my first Ashwin Sanghi book. It was a nice read in overall sense and as expected it does build up some suspense and have big revelations at the end which left me at an awe. In fact after reading this book I ordered some of the author's other works.However, the thing that I disliked was that too many plots and characters both in past and present that were narrated one after the other which was a little difficult for me to keep track of. Although, at the end when the linkage was established between them, it felt satisfying.I should say that definitely give it a try!

What a book !!!!Set in the Dan Brown tone, Ashwin Sanghi delivers justice to everything presented in the book linking mythology, history, science and religion.A brilliant read.What set me off a little bit is that i’m a Indian living in Canada and the price is outrageous.I do thank Amazon though for giving us the opporunity to have these products away from home as well.Kudos to Amazon

Ashwin never ceases to surprise me. The way he connects Ancient world with the contemporary world is just mesmerising. Thanks for the experience, Ashwin. I know the next book will release in 2022. I noticed the pattern 😎

Not bad.. a tad long. Loved the history tour. Not many fiction books about Pallava dynasty. CIA, Mossad... one too many spooks, IMHO

Good read. Lots of historical and geographical information of India from those times. The border skirmish of Indo-China came true!!!

It is about time that the author takes a crash course on writing a novel which is interesting. The novel just drags on, the plot is simple and straightforward. Don't bother reading it. I didn't want to give it a single star because it is absolutely not worth it. After Chanakya Chant not a single book of his has been worth reading.
