## Overview

The TOPENS TC188 is a versatile, waterproof keypad designed for keyless gate access. Compatible with TOPENS and most third-party gate openers, it offers flexible wired or wireless installation, supports up to 64 unique 4-digit codes including temporary ones, and features a 2-year battery life with automatic LED backlighting for all-weather use.

## Description

Simply enter a short password to open the gate without carrying a key. Enhance security with this keypad for keyless operation. TC188 can be powered by the 9VDC carbon battery (incl.), or the control board of the gate opener, or by the external 9-30VAC / DC power source.
In this mode, under ideal condition (no signal interference), one TC188 keypad can operate countless gate openers synchronously.
If you need to control the gate openers separately, one keypad is allowed to access up to two swing gate openers respectively, or one sliding gate opener.
The wired mode is recommended for locations where frequency interference is occurred or where the control box is installed far away from the gate operator.
In this mode, one TC188 keypad only connects to one gate opener.
One gate opener can connect with at most two keypads in parallel.
You can add this keypad on the entrance, exit, or both sides of the gate.
Optionally choose either wireless or wired connection mode according to your needs.
Generally, the distance between the keypad and the control box of the gate opener should be within 35 feet (10 m).
It is NOT suggested to position the keypad near any metal structure, in order to avoid the signal frequency interference.
This keypad is suitable for the household, courtyard, farm, ranch, warehouse and other commercial / industrial sites.
The TC188 keypad works excellently with all the TOPENS gate openers and most third party swing / sliding gate openers or garage door openers.
Pay attention to the compatibility check instruction before connecting with the third party gate opener or garage door opener.
Supports up to 64 individual sets of 4-digit access codes, including the temporary and permanent codes.
It brings high convenience for controlled access, making an easy way for family and friends to access the gate opener system.
Made of high-quality heat-resistant material, the keypad is suitable for outdoor use, and works in excessively heat, cold and humid environment.
Solid housing offers stable protection and promises a long-lasting performance.

Working Temperature: 0°F to 120°F (-20℃~ +50℃)
Compatible with most third party swing / sliding gate opener or garage door opener whose control board accepts “Normally Open Dry Contact” signal.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good product

Well made, with good backlighting on button activation. Pairing wirelessly with the controller was a bit problematic, but successful following the instructions. Appears durable and weatherproof.

Very easy to install and works well

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Part of my perfect gate opener .
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 3, 2026*

The basis of my recommendation is other products I have witnessed, because this is the first automatic gate opener I have ever owned. The reason I haven't put one on our gate before is because of situations in which I found myself walking or climbing over the fences of friends and neighbors who have poorly functioning gate openers. They're ugly and cheap looking too. I have a really cool gate, and it deserves an automatic opener, but seriously, who can't just get out and open the gate. The answer is - my husband and I (he has arthritis and I have ALS. We need the gate opener. So it was with suspicion and trepidation that we studied the available options and decided on TOPENS. My handyman/builder assembled it fairly easily, because HE OWNS A TOPENS opener and is very happy with it. I ordered all the parts. I noted that everything, including this key pad, is finely assembled and heavy duty, which is needed for my heavy duty drill pipe gate. I've seen some good keypads and some not so good. This one is attractive and heavy duty. It matches my whole gate, both in appearance and heavy duty quality. I'm very happy with it! It’s solid. I won’t have to use it, cuz I have two ways to open it from my car: a fob and an app!
