These work well at baking the middle of cakes and even bread loafs. You just have to remember to flip them over and remove. Good value for the money and easy to remove from the cake. I think the size is good for what they are used for. They should last makes bakes.

8 felt like a lot. "I'll never use them all, but I'll get it, anyway." I was so wrong - it has been such a delight to be able to use a few, throw them in the dishwasher, and still have plenty more in the drawer. As I've been starting up a small cake business, I'm baking several cakes a day, with multiple tiers and layers. Having so many heating cores means that I don't have to stop to wash them all by hand, which I was doing before with my 3 cores. These are skinnier than the cores I'm used to using, and they don't distribute heat quite as well as the larger ones I own, but they save enough cake that I'm able to get 3 layers of a 6in cake out of one box, rather than just 2 without them. That's all that matters to me, since the top will inevitably be sliced off, either way. They also come in a nice little white cardstock box that I stuck straight into my drawer as an organizer for them, so they're always easy to find.

I took one star away because the first set arrived with all broken stems and 3 short of an 8 pack.. Amazon replaced it.. That said, this is a must have for baking your cakes evenly!

Perfect product!! These make bread or even meatloaf cook perfect all evenly. Bread isn't doughy or over cooked on the outside. Meatloaf is thoroughly cooked in the middle. Everyone should have a set of both sizes. They are Sturdy, Multi functionality ,Easy to clean, Easy to use, and worth the money. Perfect product
