Works great

This worked great - it's easy to use with a standard soldering iron. Trick is to get the sizing right on the 3d printed model so that the lip on the inserts fits easily in the hole but doesn't go into it. Then you just apply the applicator that's in the soldering iron, and gently apply a bit of pressure so it slides into the plastic and then you just lift up and everything is set - once it's cooled down (you will burn your fingers the first time - give it _time_ to cool off!!). What I realized is that my old inserts will work but not easily. The inserts with this model has a small lip with a slightly smaller radius than the actual insert. This allows you to easily align the insert with the hole and push it in. When I use my old inserts without the lip, it works but you have to be careful. The insert fall off a few times before I got it right. So that means you need to ensure the inserts you buy for refills are the same kind. And they most likely will come at a premium. But it's easier and less troublesome so it may be worth the extra cost to you.

One of the adapters snapped clean off when it was hot. Not impressed at all, I’ve only used it maybe 3 times. Get a different brand.

These appear to be high quality thread inserts. The knurling on the inserts is clean and uniform. The soldering iron tips all fit well on both the soldering iron and the inserts. This kit doesn't include all sizes of each insert, notably missing (for my use) are the short M5x6x7 inserts. If this kit has the insert sizes you need, this is a good kit.
