Q: Are the combs plastic or metal?

It's plastic, if you don’t have very thick hair don’t waste your money. This won’t stay on your hair as it is too wide. Hope this help..

I cut the piece in half and used it as a topper. I removed the combs and sewed in wig clips for easy attachment. You can also pull your hair through the mesh.

Q: Can you color the hair?

This is not natural hair, so I wouldn't try it. You probably could gat away with a temporary rinse which washes out over time.
