A waving good-luck cat has been on my husband's wish list for a while....so he got one for Christmas. We really like this one as it is a nice size (not the tiniest size) and has a sweet face. It comes with a little red satin-y pillow to sit on. The paint job is well done, with happy colors. It took us a while to get the arm to start waving. At first, putting in the batteries seemed to have no result. I was able to reach into the innards of the cat through a cavity on the bottom of the statue and tried to toggle things around, but I have no idea if that helped. Maybe it was just a loose connection in the battery well. Somehow, after popping the batteries in and out a few times, the arm did start to wave! So don't give up immediately if you run into a similar issue. We haven't decided on a permanent spot yet for the cat, but right now it's on a small phone table in the living room, waving towards the front door. It's happy-making to look across the room and see the cat there doing its stuff. FYI, I'm not sure at all that this is ceramic--it feels like plastic (a thick sturdy plastic). Bear that in mind, if it matters to you. Do you need a cat like this? No, you do not. But if you want one, and it would make you happy and cheer you up every time you see it, then this little splurge seems to be worth it.

I ordered two more for my office and a gift. Super cool. I feel more lucky already.

The media could not be loaded. Purchased both items, received today and Lucky Cat item with closed eyes does not work at all. Waving arm does not even function. Even after placing 3 sets of new batteries in it. Very disappointed.
