Just What You Need and Gain to Spare
A turn of the single, gigantic bias knob will give you the gamut of fuzz tones from gated to thick. You can, as advertised, put real transistor fuzz anywhere in your signal chain. It is everything you need, nothing you don't and top-quality construction. It's a feature not a bug but...As others have posted, it has an unruly amount of gain. My practice guitar amp will feedback to a potentially damaging level withing seconds of turning this pedal on (set at 1 with a kill switch on the instrument) unless I stack something below unity gain. Even with a passive pickup, playing actual notes on my P-Bass is off the table as soon as you roll the instrument knob off of about 1. It does a lot of other cool things, though. So, as I said "feature."

Big sound
It’s a loud strong fuzz pedal. It sounds good well made. When buying it I love the one knob. I always like less is more. But now owning it. I kind of wished it had a volume.Because it’s loud. Yea you can use you Guitar or amp volume to control the levels. That all said it does sound great. Big strong Fuzz on any setting.

Earthquaker Devices Strikes Again!
I have been on a quest for the perfect fuzz pedal for ten years; this pedal comes close to perfection. If you dial the knob before noon, you get a trebly, sputtering fuzz sound. Set the knob after noon and you get a thick, heavy fuzz that just oozes with tone. It is built like a tank and an exceptional value.

Great, but one knob means more work
Some amazing sounds, but the lack of a volume knob makes it hard to tame, and unfortunately a dealbreaker for me. Most of the settings are too gated for my taste, but past 2'o'clock I love the sounds!

Simple and Powerful Fuzz
This thing is rad. Get ready for its volume boost because it is very loud. If you want an easy to use fuzz pedal with great tones at any setting, this is the pedal for you.

Like, wow.
This is a truly impressive fuzz, the sound is just perfect. I have been on a fuzz quest for many years and this is the final word. There is hugeness and clarity, warmth and grit, it responds really well to how hard you play. It is hard to turn off as everything sounds better with it on. I find the centre position is perfect, with all the way left as a close second. Whether I play dusty Springfield or my bloody valentine or grandaddy or daft punk it is just awesome. If I had to fault it then it is very loud so unless you run it through a separate loop with a volume control after it you basically have to leave it on and turn your amp down. But as I said it doesn't matter as why would you turn it off? Luckily I have got a line selector but even so its weirdly hard to balance the volume. This starts at 11. If I could find a phaser of similar magnitude then I won't need to buy any more pedals and I am a lifelong pedalhead. For reference I am playing it with a mij jazzmaster into a blues junior.

Great sounding fuzz
This pedal is excellent. I am a big fan of fuzz, but fuzz pedals are often affected badly by other pedals in your chain and lose their mojo. This thing sits happily anywhere in the chain. The single control is a bias control, and adds some real magic. Turn it all the way to the left and you get spluttery gated fuzz. As you turn the dial clockwise the fuzz gets both louder and smoother but with great clarity and character. There is a centre detent in the dials travel where the fuzz is very nicely balanced. This is my first Earthquaker Devices Pedal and based on the quality of this unit, it will not be the last! Lots of fun, best fuzz I have owned yet.
