Great bargain, high quality.
I'm thrilled with the quality - it seems like it would have cost twice as much or more. Very solid, quality feel. Looks great. It's quite heavy though, guess that comes with the territory. I'm still experimenting with this Dobro (alternate name for these) - I think that no matter how great a dobro is, it's not as versatile as a regular guitar, seems like a specialty, niche kind of thing (but see below, the strings you use can make it more versatile). I'm not a slide player, so that limits what I can do with it. Sounds interesting in minor key songs, also makes a nice effect when you slide the edge on a pick across the lighter strings like a harp. Has a great reverb/sustain when you do that, then just let it fade.I'm looking forward to playing out with it - I think a lot of people will be intrigued with the curious look of it as a collector's item kind of thing. I like becoming a multi-instrumentalist without really learning a whole new instrument. This guitar sounds kind of like an electric guitar when you play it "unplugged". If you want an electric sound without "plugging in", this is it. I have not tried the electric pick-up feature yet.P.S.: Now I've had it about 3 months. Until today I had used the original strings it came with, which were ok. I just put my favorite strings on it, which I use on all of my guitars (Ernie Ball "Skinny top, heavy bottom"), and I like the sound much better. This enables me to play my usual style, contrasting high and low passages. From what I see here and with another guitar I got from Amazon, if you buy one with strings already on, don't judge a guitar until you put on your own style of strings. I also bought a Pyle acoustic student guitar recently, and was very happy with it.

Fantastic Product
Well its me again making another review. This time its on my new Pyle Electro Resophonic Acoustic Electric Guitar. 1st The boxing seemed to be pretty standard until I opened it then I was impressed. The guitar was its a foam case for protection WOW! I've never had that before but sweet. As I pulled it from it foam its Sarcophagus it was in its gig bag rapped in foam. Ok this guitar is amazing. Looks beautiful. And after a bit of tuning sounds perfect without the amp. I haven't hooked it up yet so still something to play with. This is my 4th guitar and will offer that Spanish sound Im looking for. It came with a tuner, strap, gig bag and few month free lessons from Pyle. So I'm very happy with this guitar. Saved me a bunch of money and still got the great looks great sound and incredible quality of Pyle. Thank you

Great Buy! Here is the BIG review that you need to read..
Hello,I’m MrTom, I’m a songwriter/composer under performance rights organization, BMI, Inc and I’m a self-administrated publisher under The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC). I play 14 instruments and I write and record commercially licensed music, instrumental music under four music libraries as well as for retail sale.I also know how to setup and upgrade all of my string instruments. Here is some things you need to know about this resonator acoustic/electric guitar.I got this for close to $150.00 USD, a REALLY great price so it was worth buying. Anytime you buy a guitar in the $100.00 USD price range, expect issues.. And sometimes just putting in some effort setting up the guitar.Positives:I’m happy to say NO structural issues, there is one small dent in the “rim” of the outside cover of the cone, but I can only see it close up, no big deal. There is no issues with the neck pocket area or body, the wood is fine.NO high frets on mine, that made me really happy! String nut is ok. There is a high plastic compensated bridge saddle that is in the cone and between the metal parts of the “biscuit”, I have not opened the cone but it looks removable (more on that below in Tips section). The peizo pickup system with the 3 band EQ takes a 9 volt battery and the battery is listed as 2023 on the bottom. That MAY be the expiration year so plan on buying a new 9volt battery to have on hand. The EQ sounds fine to me,, volume on mine seem fine. It is “bright” sounding as in "direct" to USB recording interface using just the EQ controls onboard the guitar, if you use an amp and the tone controls you can make it sound way better.. Or pre / post EQ in your DAW recording software.String nut is ok, looks like it is plastic but the string routes in the nut are fine. The string tuners are OK, what you expect to find at this price point. It’s nice that this guitar comes with spare strings, strap, picks and a clip-on tuner. Also a Allen / hex key for adjusting the truss rod (more below on that). Also as others have posted, inside the box the guitar is packed in it own stryofoam container.. Why can’t all guitars be shipped this way? I was impressed by that.Negatives:One of the small “cones” in the upper left of the guitar was a little bit out, it looks like they use rubber cement to glue them in a bit, this isn’t a bad thing it make them easier to replace but not a good initial feeling seeing that. The carrying bag that comes with the acoustic guitar is rather poor, I've seen worse out there. The "Pyle" while logo paint is like seared on the bag. And it seems like toxic plastic.. Some of you guys out there know what I mean. There ARE sharp fret ends on the neck, they are just sharp enough to be unconformable. What I use is a fret crowning file. I tape the wood around the metal fret ends then slowly round out the fret ends.. NOT the whole fret.. Just the ends, I plan to do that next. Also know, that this is NOT a part of a basic guitar setup. The factory should of done better.I read on Amazon and elsewhere that the bridge “tail piece” that the strings go thru gets bent down too much and rests on the cone. I’ll have to research if that is right or not, if it’s not, then I can use some felt ukulele picks to slightly raise the tail piece higher up off the face of the cone cover.TIPS / Other things to know:As in any guitars you buy, the fret board on the neck is VERY dry. Buy some fret board conditioner. On dark wood fret boards, I use Old English Lemon oil, been using for more than 35+ years and it’s fine once a year on dark wood fret board. Some people like to use a more natural oil like F-One Nomad which is made with nut oils.. But choose one of the many brands off of Amazon. The strings on this guitar seem to be like 11’s or 12’s, they are HEAVY. If you are playing slide guitar only this may be ok to you. In my case, I’ll be swapping these out tomorrow with 10 gauge strings as I am going to play this with a pick and finger picking. The guitar is going to need a basic setup. Know, that you CAN do this yourself. If you take this to any retail music store or independent luthier you’ll spend at least $100.00 USD if your lucky. Remember, luthers no matter where they work LOVE to overcharge for simple services. Look on YouTube and learn out to setup acoustic guitars and out to adjust acoustic guitar saddles. And watch more video on the subject.A basic setup is:1) Adjusting the truss rod in the neck to your playing preference. Remember this truss rod, the opening is under the “plate” in the head stock and when you use the included allen key/hex key to take relief out of the neck (like straightening it) if you are directly in front of the guitar you are turning it counter-clockwise to the “left”. DO NOT over do it, on mine it was like 3 small less than a quarter turn, again do not over do this.2) After that, adjusting the saddle to bring the string height lower (or higher if needed with a saddle shim). The saddle is what the strings go over in this case in the “biscuit” under the cone surface cover. They are usually too tall and this is expected on new guitars. You can use a flat file, sandpaper or dremel/rotary tool (which is the easiest) to shave off a LITTLE bit at a time to lower the string height/action. I’ll be replacing mine with a bone compensated saddle with will be an improvement as it is a hard material then plastic. Strings can wear down divots in plastic saddle over a short time. Again, look on YouTube to learn to do this. The last thing is, that I think the same factory that makes this also makes the Rogue resonator guitar that is a house brand for a big music online retail store, however this one is less in price which again is great. If you can it for the price I paid, it’s worth taking a chance. Remember that Amazon as a great return policy. Also remember you are a valued Amazon customer, you are not the end customer of the vendor. If you don’t mind doing some minor setup, this is a REALLY great buy for the price! - MrTom

Incredible quality for price
This is superb for the price, quality equal to Gold Tone or Recording King... intonation perfect, finish far from cheap. Only cheap aspect is the acoustic strings it comes with. Neck is really good, playable at pro level. It's a steal, frankly... just replace with appropriate strings once you get a feel for this guitar/resonator. You will be happy with it.

So much value
I couldn't be more thrilled about a new guitar than I was when I received my Pyle resonator. I love the look and tone, and what I have learned to play sounds so much bluesier. Did I say it's beautiful? If you're into folk, bluegrass, or the blues, put your acoustic guitar on the wall for decoration and get one of these. It's nice to have both though. It depends on the tune you want to play, and a lot of early blues, in example, should be played on a resonator guitar.

Complete crap! Do NOT buy!
The media could not be loaded. I read all the reviews before I bought this and they were all so good I decided to go ahead but now I’m sending it right back! I own a guitar restoration and repair shop and have seen it all but the first 6 frets on this guitar have notches under both the hig E string and the B string!I thought ok, I can re-crown them etc but then I plugged it in and OMG is it ever crappy! My video says it all really! I could NEVER play this in a bar or an open mic etc. oh well, let’s see if they can send me a good one before I actually return this one!
