Ted Transponder Antenna/Stub/Bnc 104-12

Used this as an external antenna for a Garmin GDL-52 (along with a cable and BNC-MCX adapter also found here). Signal strength was showing better than the GDL ever had, and I had the option to mount it anywhere in the plane. It still won't pick up signal on the ground unless you're fairly close to a station, but that's just the nature of ADS-B reception, a relatively small antenna, and ground based radio in general. The antenna was mounted to the top of the cockpit through 1/4" (est.) fiberglass, and even though there wasn't a flat surface to mate against (the whole thing has a slight curve), the included seal still works well and doesn't leak. That's probably worst case scenario, so even if you don't have an entirely flat surface to work with, you shouldn't have issues with it sealing properly. Connections and whatnot are nice and tight, I have no reason to think they'd ever work loose under vibration/light strain. As a bonus, you can also use the antenna with a handheld radio, though it's probably a downgrade unless you're surrounded by a lot of metal/interference in the cockpit. It's nice to have options either way.

Mounted on the belly pan in conjunction with a legacy transponder install. Transponder, encoder and antenna all seem to be playing well together. Good price and timely delivery.

Worked perfectly, easy install and arrived quickly. Would buy from again if I was a transponder antenna collector, sadly just one and done for me.
