I would have liked a thicker stick
This is thin enough to fit into a standard wooden incense boat, so finding a holder was much easier for this than the other BOSEN scents. However, I would have liked a thicker stick, as I've noticed the scent is deeper. This is still wonderful though. I can definitely tell this doesn't have any fillers in it like the Japanese Aloeswood I'm used to. At first, it wasn't that pleasant, but as with all Tibetan incense, there is a learning curve as you come to appreciate how beautiful this pure scent is. The Aloeswood spice is definitely noticeable, but it smells a bit woodier than I expected.

smells like burnt wood
Not agarwood or aloeswood. Smelled like I was burning wood in my house. There's nothing like real agarwood incense and this is nothing like real agarwood incense.

Quite the value and a sublime, earthy scent.
I have now purchased quite a few of Bosen's products. This is REALLY nice. One can definitely tell the difference in grades sold by this company. This one is quite a value for what you pay. The smell is intoxicating. Very nice work.

Real
The Real. A bottom grade, to be sure, and rather plain considering it's brothers; but strikingly genuine. And (outside of Japanese preparations) genuine has become so rarely the case in the west's tricky markets. Value at this lower-end has given me confidence to invest in more of Bosen's offerings

Merely adequate
This is the first incense I've ever bought that I would classify as frustrating rather than outright bad or good. The sublime aloeswood scent is there, yes, and unsullied by cheap essential oils or other odors. The problem is that the smell is so faint -- despite the fact that the incense sticks themselves are hefty -- that even the accumulated aroma of an entire 8-inch stick is barely detectable in a large room. (I was taken aback when I first opened the box and the sticks hardly gave off *any* smell at all, even when brought up to my nose.) So: If you're lighting it in a small room, this is a very fine medium-priced incense that has the authentic depth of aloeswood. But in a sizeable living room, say, the smell could be all but lost.
