Excellent sculpts and value - but shed paint
I purchased these to use for tabletop gaming in 28mm scale. Obviously, this means the figures will be large or huge. This worked out well for the minotaurs, and decently well for the orcs - they'll represent ogres - the hunter/vikings will work well for me as well because my campaign world features a race of humans that are ten feet tall on average, Northern descendents of giants. The undead warriors are really cool, although they would be much better in a smaller scale. The bariaur and centaur are oversized but could fly if you squint. The elves are the least useful - there are no giant elves in D&D, and the closest things - voadkyn and firbolg - don't really resemble these Tolkien/Eldari style elves. You won't really find PC miniatures here, but 15 or so useable monster minis and others you may find a purpose for is still a good value for the price.Overall, the sculpts are excellent and fun to paint. There are few sprue marks, blemishes and little flash. They look good painted - you can see my passable efforts below, using just dollar craft paint - but there's a big downside. They won't hold paint. I soaked in rubbing alcohol for a day, scrubbed with blue dawn, based them, and primed with rustoleum 2x... the paint and primer rub off easily. They don't really flex and flake, so much as rub off. I did several heavy coats of matte spray sealant before the black wash and that helped somewhat, but a nail scrape still pulled some. I'm going with matte varnish after this. If you plan to paint, throw in a light sanding to any smooth, exposed surfaces before priming, and manage your expectations for durability, don't store them loose in a box but in pick foam. That's why I gave it a low mark for durability but high for sturdiness - I'm talking about paint durability. The unpainted figures won't break.
