Zonie, C8, Jelly, Altea, Perles, Nucool Direct Sound Quality Comparison
Yes, I bought all 6 to compare side-by-side. I'm a bit crazy, its true. I'm a longtime audiophile with a particular sensitivity to Pace, Rhythm and Timing(PRaT) above all of the other audiophile attributes. I spent probably at least 7 hours (mostly in the early morning when I'm having trouble sleeping) comparing these 6 cables with mostly the Moondrop Kato and the Tangzu Wan'er IEMs. Various music. Various Sandisk Clip sources. This comparison is by no means exhaustive but I hope many of you will find it useful. My cable characteristic findings held true regardless of the IEM that I was using. My personal interest is mostly in how the cable performs sound-quality wise with few notes about weight or cosmetics.Quotations are my notes.Zonie: This was better sounding than the stock cables that came with my Tangzu Wan'er but the C8 was SO much better for such a small increase in price that I returned these after only a few hours of listening. This is why you don't see it in the photo. Buy these if you absolutely can't spend more.C8:"Percussive leading edge of notes. Energy. Snap. Louder Volume. Exciting". Solid recommendation. Read on.Jelly: "Everything coming from one layer/location. Lack of depth. Lack of decay." Definitely better than stock cables but I cannot recommend them for the price. I liked every other cable here more, regardless of price.Altea: "Decay. Instrument Separation. Integrated. Layers" Just lovely with a nice balance of all of the audiophile attributes. Not as energetic as the C8 but noticeably better overall. Not as good of sound-stage, resolution, decay as the Nucool but better integrated. Not the timing mastery of the Perles but better in more ways.Perles: "Easiest to hear lyrics. Timing. PRaT rightness, cohesive, everything arriving at the right time in relation to other sounds/instruments. Frequently get the "locked on" feeling with these that is really satisfying for my tastes." Does suffer a little to the Altea and Nucool in regards to overall resolution and soundstage. This is THE cable if you're a PRaT listener. The "ribbon" styling may not be everyone's cup-of-tea.Nucool: "Dimensional, separation, resolution, texture, soundstage, bass, decay." This cable is particularly unique among all of the cables. It is the best at doing what I would call "magic tricks" with the sound in terms of soundstage and separation of instruments/sounds. There is a loss of cohesion as compared to the Perles and Altea. This cable is thick and heavy and the most "audio jewelry" like.My overall recommendations: Skip the Zonie and the Jelly. Get the C8 if you can't spend more. I would highly suggest buying the Altea to MOST buyers as it transmits beautiful sound and feels really balanced in its attributes. If you want the highest order in most of the audiophile attributes I would buy the Nucool, as long as you're not a PRaT/coherence guy/gal and can handle the weight and cosmetics. If you're a PRaT/Coherence listener you will think the Perles is special.Do cables make that big of a difference? If you have the equipment and the ear, the difference can be huge. Depending on the equipment it can be a better buy that purchasing more expensive IEMs. I suggest buying a nice cable and swapping it between your iem collection(assuming the connectors are the same of course). I was shocked at how much better the Tangzu Wan'er (my favorite budget IEM)sounded with quality cables. Is it worth it to spend $30 or more on a cable when my IEMS are only $XX? If you have the ear for it and really love your music, it pains me to say "YES". Being in the audio industry I would usually never suggest spending so much on cables in relation to the rest of the system. Would I spend $10 more for the C8 over the Zonie? Easy yes. $10 more for the Altea over the C8? Easy yes. $10 more for the Perles or Nucool over the Altea? For most listeners I would say no(see notes above). For most buyers with discriminating tastes, I would suggest the Altea, particularly if you own multiple IEMs and want to see what they are capable of. I would also suggest waiting for one of the regular sales.

Wow! Better than I imagined.
One of my favorite pair of IEM's to listen to EDM/House music with are the KZ Zax. That IEM is unlike the majority of KZ's line of IEM's. While KZ's are known for having a very pronounced V shape sound signature with a mid-range that gets lost under booming bass and almost shrill highs. Because the Zax's are a hybrid and not full armature they have a dynamic driver for the low end and 7 armature drivers per earpiece. The dynamic driver fixes a lot of the boomy low end issues that KZ's had become famous for. What really surprised me when I first listened to them was the presence of the mid-range. It is there and present in all the good ways you would want it to be yet never over powering. It was love at first listen and over the years that I have owned my KZ Zax's they have quickly become the IEM's I always have with me and listen to most often. Anyone who has ever owned a pair of KZ IEM's knows that the weakest part of any of their line is the cable that they include with their IEM's. The stock cable barely passes as something I would give any thought of listening to music through. They leave a lot to be desired. So the first thing to be ditched in a drawer somewhere is the stock cable. For the past year and 7 months I have had two 3rd party cables (the second one replaced the first one when the connection started dropping in and out in the left ear piece), While not the best cables available, they were far superior to the stock cable, they cost around $12 each and both of them lasted over 7 months before the internal wires started breaking at the bend points. I usually keep my phone in my front pocket with the headphones plugged in and I have a bad habit of leaving it that way when I sit down which is why I am very hard on cables and they all succumb to breakage at the bend points. Last week the second 3rd party cable finally started to show signs that death was imminent and the right ear piece was going to stop working very soon. I jumped on Amazon and started looking for a new replacement cable. The Tripowin Zonie caught my eye. Not so much because I knew it had superior sound quality due to its impressive build quality but more for its overall thickness. A 16 core silver plated cable is not going to internally break as easy as a 4 core cable (or at least common sense is on the side of the 16 core cable). Sure, I knew there would be some amount of better sound but I was really thinking about how sturdy that thick cable looked. My first impression upon unpacking the cable was that it really is a quality build using quality parts. As an added bonus it is also stunning looking (dare I say sexy as well). Then I put my trusty Zak's in my ears and kicked off some music. Wow! I didn't even have to think about whether they did or did not sound better. The music now has a noticeably smooth underbelly. The notes seem to be gliding effortlessly in the air. Until I started listening with this cable, I didn't even realize that sound coming out of my Zax's was traveling over a gravel road. At least that is the best way to describe it. I wasn't expecting this level of improvement but the ear to ear smile plastered on my face says a lot about just how good this cable is. At around $20 it is more than worth every penny.

Muy bien
Compré el cable para unos audífonos Olina y van bien, el único detalle es que son ligeramente pesados y pueden llegar a atorarse en la ropa, calidad de construcción y sonido. Excelente

Better than the stock cable
Ordered this cable for my Shure Aonic 3 IEM's and it's a perfect match. Much better than the stock cable. Build quality is excellent - sturdy but pliable and soft and the connections are tight. The fit around the ears is very comfortable. The sound is much better too - the mids and highs are more dialed in and the bass is tighter. A highly recommended upgrade at a great price.
