This is a great product
I had never worked with this type product before and after using 9 rolls, it's exactly what I needed. Although it's heavy, that's what I needed. I used this as one (1) of a four (4) layer subfloor in an older condominium (a soft layer, Soundsulate, 1/4" plyboard, engineered vinyl . The sound dampening was super helpful. The distributor was nice enough to refer me to the manufacturer for their feedback. I received a call back right away and the gentleman was very helpful as far as being a soundboard for usages and application. What they recommended is to not just take up the subfloor but to remove the baseboards as well and push the product under the drywall all the way to the 2x4 that is bracing the wall otherwise there is a gap that allows sound to go up into the walls and you're not getting the proper usage of the product. I also used a soundproofing calking around the edge next to the wall brace. Being new to this type of DIY job, I could not have had a better experience. With the lessons learned I would certainly use this product again but I would also consider a heavier pad. This does not stop structural noise, that requires going into the walls.... different project.

Worked as intended
Used as a sound deadener over an existing ceiling along with another layer 5/8 drywall. Doesn’t do great blocking all the impact noise, like footsteps on hardwood and doors closing, but definitely muffled neighbors' voices and music to a noticeable degree, except heavy bass tones. It worked as intended and I’m happy with results. Though it was a lot of work, stuff is heavy! It is expensive so you will have to decide if potential peace and quiet is worth it to you?

soundsulate is a sound solution!
I purchased this product last year and was very impressed with the results. This recent purchase solidified my belief that soundsulate MLV works. My living room sits in between a very busy road and an elderly neighbor that blasts his TV. I installed soundsulate mass loaded vinyl and the silence is deafening . . . a wonderful silence indeed! Although the MLV is a tad heavy, I followed the installation instructions from Burning River Buys and I had a quiet living room in no time . . . for the first time! Their installation instructions were very helpful. Soundsulate is an amazing product and well worth it.

It works for sound abatement
Pretty sure the delivery driver cursed the whole way when unloading...these rolls are no joke and heavy! Besides that they are easily cut and work with but I recommend a second set of hands due to the weight. I can't imagine what the 2lb verizon would be like. I used this to cut strips about 18" wide to fasten to joist where there is ductwork and air returns. Not enough space for r19 or r25 fiberglass insulation but plenty of room for r13 and some MLV. So far so good. Considerably less noise in other rooms due to this. Can't wait to see how 5/8" fire rated drywall helps in the abatement as well if I ever get that gone.

2023 version very inferior, less dense
I bought several rolls of this in 2022 and was very pleased. In 2023 I purchased another and am very disappointed. The vinyl is half the weight and thickness as the "same" material purchased less than a year ago. Yet the price is actually higher than previously. I had to double the vinyl for installation. Will never purchase from this manufacturer again.

Very good product for automotive sound blocking
I applied this in my 2022 Ram 1500 Limited to isolate inside and outside noise. It was super easy to work with using a box cutter and drill bits depending on the situation. I shopped around and this was where I fell on value for my money compared to other MLV products. It's very workable and was highly effective in reducing road noise when applied to my inner doors, rear wall, and floor pan. I attached it using factory bolt locations. It did not come with any adhesive backing, etc. which I expected. I purchased some 3M spray adhesive, but decided to use factory bolts to hold it in place instead, so it would be easy to remove if I needed to service my inner doors in the future.

Reliable Quality and Great Performance Every Time
I’ve purchased several rolls of this 1lb mass loaded vinyl sheet from this supplier, and it has consistently delivered on quality, density, and material expectations—no surprises whatsoever. As is natural with this type of material, there is a slight smell when first unboxed, but letting it sit in the garage for a few days resolves that completely. Compared to other options on Amazon, this product has stood out for its reliability and performance. Whether for soundproofing or other applications, this product has not let me down. I’ll continue to purchase from this supplier for any future projects. Highly recommend!

No noticeable difference for vehicle application - Maybe not a fair review
I will put the caveat on here that this review is for sound dampening a pickup truck, which is not the original intent of the product. The product could work well in a household application, but I know it did not have much of an effect for my automotive experience. I recently installed this 1lb mass loaded vinyl product on the floor and doors of my Dodge RAM 2500 2004 quad cab pickup truck to enhance sound dampening while driving down the highway. Unfortunately, even when combined with 80 mil noico butyl CLD, I did not achieve results any better than the stock carpet and asphalt dampeners. I removed the old, hardened, stock damping asphalt CLD and replaced it with "superior" butyl. I made sure to cover as much of the floor as possible while making minimal cuts in the MLV, as you can see in the pictures. I also replaced the old carpet with a vinyl floor for easier cleaning. Unfortunately I did not notice any change in the sound levels. I used Decibel X to measure sound damping before and after. I made sure to take the pickup out on a calm day both before and after measurements. Before installation: 54 dB @ idle 60 dB @ 30 mph 64 dB at 60 mph 66 dB @ 70 mph 65 dB @ 40 mph on a dirt road After installation, with 1lb mass loaded vinyl: 56 dB @ idle 59 dB @ 30 mph 65 dB @ 60 mph 66 dB @ 70 mph 67 dB @ 40 mph on dirt road I have to admit, the sound dampening effect was below my expectations. I suppose if you are working on a vehicle without any dampening at all, you would notice a big change. I will say 100 sq ft of 1 lb / sq ft mass loaded vinyl was more than enough for 100% coverage. 36 sq ft of CLD was more than enough to cover about 1/3rd of the metal surfaces underneath the MLV. Another thing to note, if you're considering such an upgrade yourself, I would highly recommend not trying to install your own vinyl flooring. The wrinkles in my vinyl flooring haven't come out and it's been almost a week. The stuff is hard to work with and I screwed up more than once. Overall this project didn't come out like I had hoped.
