Upgrade Direct Extruder Support Plate

Fitment was perfect on a Ender-3E using a dual gear extruder and stock hot end. It also had pervisions for my CR touch. Dont forget to set your esteps to139 and change your retraction settings in your slicer to 1-3mm for retraction distance and 35 for the retraction speed . This kit does not support your filiment run out sensor. I mounted mine on the top rail with a swivel bracket from Thangs and had to extend the wires. This is a effective and cheaper solution to add a direct drive set up. The best thing about it only takes hardly no time to switch back to bowden tube set up. Just unbolt the extruder and install it back on the original bracket and add the bowden tube its that simple. oh dont forget to change you retraction settings back.

This kit was complete and flawless in every way. I converted my Ender 3 to direct drive, re-using the original stepper, fans and hotend, in about an hour and it's working great. Everything to do the conversion was included, even the tools. The price was very reasonable.

Got it together with little trouble. No instructions to be had, so as long as you remember how you put the machine together in the first place, you should be able to wing it. The gantry plate is missing the little bump that hits the X stop on my Aquila, so I had to stick something on it to trigger the switch. My fan shroud does fit with minor modification as well. This wasn't specifically made for my machine, but with the few tweaks it works just fine. For the price it can't be beat.

This is a nice kit with all the parts you need to convert to direct drive. The installation was easy and straightforward. The only thing that could have made it easier was new fittings for the Bowden tube. I couldn’t get my old Bowden out of one of mine and had to grab a spare I had in the bin.

Picked this up to convert my Anycubic Mega X that is no longer supported to the Ender-3 style hotend ecosystem. Installation was easy. Remove the old hotend carriage and install this one in its place. I have not added the direct drive mount to my installation yet as I want to get my Mega X back up and running with custom profiles as soon as possible. If you are installing this to a non-Ender style printer, make sure that the hotend can mount to the hotend carriage. I had an extra Ender Spyder hotend laying around that I converted my J-Type hotend from the Mega X to.

I was happy with it for about six months, then not so much. I periodically have to remove the extruder to service the hot end. The simplest method was to remove the two screws that secure the extruder mount to the carriage & put them back to reinstall the extruder after finishing. Today, A screw wouldn't snug back up. I removed the screw to examine it & found the threads from the carriage plate were still attached to the screw. Apparently the threads were a press fit insert with the potential to come loose. So now I have only one screw securing the extruder mount. It seems likely that will also fail in the near future. The only way I can imagine to be sure to avoid this would be to disassemble the extruder from the stepper to do hot end servicing (short Bowden replacement, residue removal, etc.).
