First and foremost it should be noted that this product is not a box dye. It's the dye like the professionals use and you will need to mixed with a developer. Just equal parts dye and developer, the higher volume the developer is, the greater the lift will be. It is a little more than the cost of a box dye (depending on what dye you use) but it is so much better for your hair and your hair will thank you for it. One thing I need to tell you about this product: they have an app that you can download that will take all the guessing out of what color your hair will turn, and it will tell you exactly what volume developer you need to use and how long it needs to sit on your hair for. You select the natural level of your hair, the dyed level of your hair (if it's dyed,) and then choose the color you want your hair to be. It spits out the product to use and tells you everything else. Even has a timer that you use. How awesome is that? Especially for red colors that are so hard to predict what they'll look like. Anyways, on to the color. It was exactly as expected. I was going for a subtle ombre and used this dye for the top part and a lighter shade for the bottom (blending them in the middle.) My natural hair is a medium/light brown and I had my hair dyed a different shade of red (it was a fairly light shade.) But like I said, the app was super helpful in determining what colors to go for. Also, I used a 30 volume developer, which is a little higher than the suggested 20, but I wanted more lift, which created a much brighter red at the top than the predicted. I'll attach a picture so you can see. (The lighting was pretty bright in the photo, as a note.) You'll want to look at the top shade to see this color, but chances are you'll get a darker color depending on your natural shade and what volume the developer is your use. The dye mixed very well and went on smoothly. It even smelled good, which isn't something that can be said for a lot of hair dyes. Overall I was very pleased this dye.

It was exactly what I was expecting, but I think the sander should try any other package to send it; because it was mistreated by the mail and arrived crushed, it almost broke. Other than that fair price fast shipping and good service.

My hair is long so I used 2 tubes of this color and paired it with vol 20 developer and the results was amazing. My hair is naturally dark brown and I had blonde highlights that I wanted to cover up. I didnt want to go back to dark brown as I felt it would be a waste of blonde, so I got this color instead. The red was quite bright under the sun and light, but as you wash your hair, the red dye will run off even after 2 weeks after coloring my hair. So once the red faded over time, the old blonde parts of my hair have a pinkish-brown tone. I love it! I will be buying more!

Vibrant color

Those of you who have red hair will agree that red washes out quickly. It's so frustrating! My hairdresser told me years ago that Schwarkopf doesent wash out as quickly as other brands. She was right and I've been using it ever since. I also love the bold and vibrant color I get from their hair color.
