A new craft for me.
I love trying new crafts and I was keen to see what diamond painting was all about. This arrived rolled up which concerned me as the picture was quite creased but everything was there for me to start ‘painting’. You get your picture that has a sticky top that’s covered by a sheet of film. Your diamonds come in little bags with the coded colour number on and you get a pen, pink ‘gunge’ and a little ribbed dish. You also get small bags to keep your diamonds in once you’ve cut open the original bags although there are only 13 of these and 24 colours so I’m going to need to find some more little bags. You will need to write the number on the spare bags if you transfer the diamonds into them. So I decided that I would work in blocks and only pull back the film a bit at a time. I reckon if you don’t do that the sticky finish on the picture will be compromised. I stated top right as I’m right handed. So you look at the letter on your pattern, find the corresponding colour using the chart on the left hand side of the pattern and tip a few diamonds of that colour into the dish. You need them point side up so if you gently shake the dish side to side the ridges in the bottom turn the diamonds the right way. You then push the pen into the pink gunge to load it. The gunge has a film on it that’s quite difficult to see but you need to remove this first. The pen will then pick up the diamonds. You just pop them onto the right square for each colour. When I’d completed a block I put the film back over it and gently smoothed it over to make sure each diamond was well stuck. My picture shows the first block I completed. I haven’t finished the whole picture yet but I think it’s going to look nice when it’s done. I also think the creases will drop out with the weight of the diamonds. From the stage I’ve reached I’m confident I will have enough diamonds to complete it. I noticed from other reviews on this craft that people seem quite interested in whether the diamonds are round or square. These are round but the finish is quite smooth. I’ve really enjoyed doing this. I reckon if I did a couple of hours a day I would complete it in under a week. It’s also something a wide age range can enjoy. I would say from age 8 upwards. So I’m very pleased with this kit and would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to try something different. It’s therapeutic and relaxing.

Five Stars
Who would have thought sticking little plastic gems onto a bit of sticky paper could be so relaxing! I've always liked the look of diamond painting, and after doing a very small bookmark a while ago wanted to try a picture one. This is a lovely picture, but be warned that the finished item may not be as sharp as the picture shown is - it's like it's slightly pixelated! However, I've really enjoyed doing it and will definitely be buying more. If you've never done diamond painting it's simple - the picture is printed onto a sticky sheet, and it's sort of a paint by numbers, but with tiny little plastic gems. You follow the key and use the correct coloured gem, pick them up one by one by using the tool that comes with it and a little square of putty/cement. The squares on the picture are very small, but I found good lighting and a magnifying light clamped to the table was a godsend!! My only criticism is the tool that comes with it, which was bending a little and seemed a bit wobbly, but apart from that I found it completely relaxing and therapeutic!!

Both finished, looks lovely and colourful
The media could not be loaded. I love doing these, I find them very therapeutic you get the usual stuff all included, the wax for the pen end, pen, little resealable bags to put the diamonds in once you’ve opened them and the tray. it has lots of lovely lilac, pink, purple, mauve colours in it. not sure what happened to the pictures 1 to 6 for the instructions on the bottom of the canvas as it has printed out in awful colours and would help noone, having said that I am not sure why they print that on the canvas anyway, it is not something I ever look at and would be best printed on a separate slip of paper. I don’t complete these in regimented lines, I just pick a colour I fancy doing and peel the protective cover back in that area and start placing the gems, I then cover the clear protective strip back over and start on a different colour

Love doing this painting
I have experience with similar piece of art with same tyoe of kit (diamonds, tray, pen and sticky pink thingy) and I really enjoyed doing that. The small packets have written numbers on them instead of the symbols used on the painting, so I used permanent marker and marked the packets with the right symbols. That makes my job a lot easier. On top of that, to store open sachets (still with diamonds inside), I used plastic container and stand the sachets up one by one. When some diamonds on the tray are upside down, I shake the tray gently so many diamonds turns on the right side. This horse 'painting' is lovely and relaxing form of spending time on lockdown. It really has helped me to enjoy free time other than watching telly.I think this is great product and outcome (horse on pinky/blue background) is satisfying. I can add wooden frame and hang it on the wall.Recommended

Beautiful, hours of fun!
This diamond painting is absolutely stunning. I would say this is more for the older child or adult, it has sooo many diamonds, will keep you busy for hours, or even days! It’s the perfect thing to keep you busy during these COVID times! It does come rolled up, so I did find I had to put heavy objects on the 2 ends to stop it’s rolling. It’s comes with all the tools you need, it’s great for a beginner with lots of patience or someone’s that’s done a few of these!Fantastic value for money, £12.99 at time of review.

Beautiful 5D picture
Absolutely beautiful 5D horse picture. If you are a fan of the 5D paintings and love horses this is a must.I personally wouldn’t do this one as a first 5D project but if you have the time then go for it.All pieces in the packaging so no need to purchase additional bits to make it work.
