Brainerd 64406 Beaded Single Toggle Switch/Duplex Outlet Wall Plate / Switch Plate / Cover, Venetian Bronze

Let me first share that if I could have saved the original switch plates, I'd have bathed them in some Rust-Oleum hammered paint and you wouldn't be reading this. Alas, the switch plates in the kitchen were mismatched and crappy to begin with, so here you are.When helping to remodel my mother-in-law's kitchen last month, I was SHOCKED to see how much mula people dish out for a switch plate. Unless you want a very basic and crappy plastic switch plate, be prepared to pay. Let me outline some of my needs and how this product addressed it.The price was very important, because I'm all about budget DIY, and I'd rather spend money elsewhere in a remodel. Also, we had a large number of plates we needed, so that upped the need for a good deal. The price point for these was unbelievable compared to anything you could find in Home Depot, Lowes, or other online retailers.The switch plate design was extremely important, because the plugs and switches are in the middle of the wall. (Who does that BTW?) So, that means you see the switch plate no matter where you are in the room. Also equally important was durability. These need to hold up to children, adults (who enjoy Macallan 12 and J Lohr wine), and clumsy men (seriously, my MIL came home to yellow mustard stains on the kitchen floor and counter one day. How do you get mustard stains on the floor, and how do you leave it there?!) These are beautiful. Seriously, we couldn't believe how awesome they look. I have this game I play where I asked my boyfriend, "guess how much these/this cost?" They were "appraised" for much more than the purchase price.(The living room switch plates were a beautiful shaped dingy brass. They got a Rust-Oleum bath, and they're to die for.)

I've just updated a 1960's kitchen and these wall plates were the final touch. I purchased several configurations of this - the 4 switch, 3 switch, outlets and a switch/outlet combo. I'd found them initially at a local hardware chain and knew I liked them, but searched on here initially because the chain store didn't have the switch/outlet combo (this one) and I needed one of these to do the whole room. When I did find them here, they were substantially cheaper than the hardware chain's prices so I ordered them all from here. My one complaint - and this is with the manufacturer and not with the seller - is that the screws that come with the wall plate are too long. When you screw them in as far as they will go, there is at least 1/8" sticking out. I had to go back to the hardware chain store and buy additional shorter stainless screws so they would be flush with the plate. Now that I've done that, they look fantastic!

I originally purchased this and the single light switch cover for my kitchen to give it a little updated look and match the new faucet and lighting, but I loved it so much that I decided to purchase some for each room of the house. You would not believe the difference switching out an old cover makes when it comes to updating the look of a room. You can't see from the photos, but the flat part of the cover has "scratches" on it to make it look "antiqued" I guess. I thought at first that I just got a damaged one, but then I realized they were all like that. The photos almost make it look like it has a wood grain to it, but it's more of a brushed metal up close. They look great and I absolutely love them!

Exactly the one outlet cover I was missing and matched all the other ones I was able to purchase locally. This last cover made my whole house transpire into such a small update.

Hey, It's an Electrical Outlet Cover. How nice will it ever look? These covers are the most elegant, heavy duty, cost effective way to enhance an outlet I've ever seen.. I bought 85.00 worth and was a little worried one of the screws would be missing per another review. I found all the covers nicely packaged with all the screws intact,. Beware, don't rip them open, cut them open with scissors at one end and carefully remove or the screws can go flying to unknown places, especially if you rip them open over a garbage can. You may find some of the screws a tad long and they bottom out when screwing them in place, back them back out, grind them to proper length and replace. If you don't have any basic skills or patience hire it done.

I have different styles of Brainerd switch plates throughout our home. They are really good quality and look nice.I wish they made more switch and socket plates in different configurations. I had to purchase another brand for some switches after our basement was finished, and the quality was not as good.

came early, very pretty and exactly what I needed. this particular plate type is not easy to find in any style so I was also pleased with price. I just have one question for the seller who dies offer an email address in order to reach out, so yeahhh!

The cover looks great, but the included screws were very poorly threaded, to the point that they simply would not work. I ended up having to re-thread them because they were ever so slightly too large in diameter. The flat-head slot on the screws is also very shallow, compounding the problem. If you were equipped with only a screwdriver then I have no doubt you would not be able to install this cover with the screws i received.
