Purchased this to replace a punctured cheap 1 gal collapsible water cube.Even though the lid on this does not lock down for traveling, this does not bother me, as I would not have done that with the water cube either.This unit collapses down to a more manageable size then a water cube. The spout works great till the water level nears the same level. But that is to be expected.The material feels very strong, and there are breather valves to help with the water flow. Because it has a hard base to sit on, it will not try to deform around the water as it gets used. It maintains its shape.I am glad this is in my camping/overlanding kit. I have used it for drinking water and drowning fires.

I really wanted to love this water container. I was excited to receive it. It arrived on-time and was well-packaged. I followed the instructions and put hot tap water in it after I washed it really well and most of the bends and creases came out. I filled it with filtered water and started to put it into the fridge because I'm going to be working outside for the next few days and I like my water cold. That's when I noticed the one tragedy about this thing: the lid is warped! Now if it were a screw on lid, that wouldn't be as much of a problem. But this is a press-fit lid with a silicone gasket. If one side is pressed in, the other side is popped open. No matter how much I pushed on both sides, it never stayed. This is supposed to be my water reservoir for when I go camping. The very last thing that I want is for the lid to pop off and either fall onto the dirty ground or allow insects, leaves, or other debris into the container. I hope that I just happened to get a faulty lid. I'm considering hitting it with my heat gun just a bit and bending it back into shape. Had the lid fit, this would easily be a 5-star product. But I can't in good conscience give it that rating with the lid being warped. I'm going to contact customer service to see how they respond. I will update my review pending the result of my customer service interaction.Update**I contacted the company directly and asked them for a new lid. They actually sent another entire bucket. Their customer service was fast and very easy to work with. Changed to 5-stars!

The product itself works as intended and seems sturdy enough. However I bought it specifically to take fresh water to have on the beach with me. Filled it up, put it in my wagon with my chairs and beach bag and before I ever get to set up, the lid pops off and waters everywhere. There’s no way to secure the lid well enough to move it around after filling up. I guess it would be fine for a campsite, but no good for a portable water source. Too bad I missed my return window.

I do enjoy how I can collapse and put away however even though was filled was hard to get sides fully extended.

We just used this for the first time on a 4 day camping trip, and had zero issues with it. The campsite had a communal water spigot that was a short walk away. With the lid in place, I had no spillage walking back to our site with a full bucket, and the handle felt secure.The spout did not leak at all when in the “off” position, which was the main issue with our old water jug. Yes, the spout is oriented a little high, and you do have to tip the bucket to get the last of the water out, but that was a minor issue for me. I wish it held a little more volume, but then it would probably be too heavy to carry.I was concerned that the spout might get cracked or crushed when packing our gear in the car, so I put it in a small Tupperware-type container to protect it. That worked perfectly, and I appreciated having the carry bag to keep everything together.The bucket folded back down very easily after being used, and dried out fairly quickly thanks to the large open top (our old one took forever to dry out).Time will tell as far as the durability goes, but I am optimistic that this will be our go-to camping water jug for years to come!

Love the concept but the the lid doesn’t stay on. Carrying a full canister and walking may present a problem. You will have a spill if full.

Regarding the issue with the lid not fitting we had the same problem it’s just something that happens. But if you just keep pushing the lid down and working with it with hot water trying to bend it back into shape it will take shape and seal no problem ours works fine now. Just got done using it on a 10 day overlanding trip getting water from near by creeks and lakes for doing dishes and whatnot. It worked great!

This thing is awesome. It’s big enough to be useful (eg refill water bottles during kids’ softball practice) and small enough to be portable (eg I can actually carry it from the car to softball practice). And collapsing down flat makes it not take up too much space in our teensy house.

Used this on my two camping trips this summer. I was tired of the cheap plastic brands that wore out easily and had the taste of plastic in the water. Just make sure the lid is on properly or you will have quite the spillage! And like most of my camping equipment, it is collapsible which makes it easier to store.
