Great cat toy!! Neat exercise option for humans too...
The media could not be loaded. I actually stumbled across this when I was looking for a certain kind of toy for my cat. Turned out this was exactly what I was looking for. So I can't review it as much from a motorized, electronic fitness/jump rope aspect as I can from a cat owner's perspective, but I'll do my best.So from a pet perspective, it's great! My cat loves things that spin in a circle, but no cat toy spins and stays in place. They all move and he gets frustrated by that, so this toy is perfect for him. That's all it does, spin in a circle in place until I turn it off. And trying to catch the "rope" seems to tap into his prey drive, so it's hilarious watching him interact with it.It comes with two "jump ropes." You can attach one or both. I like that the entirety of the "rope" is flexible and not rigid. Less chance of injury to the person (or cat), less chance of breakage of the "rope," and I think it mimics more closely an actual jump rope. The counter works great and keeps perfect count. It resets whenever you turn the unit off. As you can see in the video, it keeps great rhythm and even though I don't show it in the video, it keeps great rhythm even at the fastest speeds. The base does start to "walk" at higher speeds, though, but it stays within a couple-inch radius so that hopefully shouldn't affect a person's ability to jump if they jump farther away from the base toward the end of the attachment. The reason why I gave it four stars rather than five is because while I love that it has a remote control, its function is hit and miss. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. And that's a bit frustrating using it as a cat toy so I can imagine it would be even more frustrating as fitness equipment and could potentially lead to an injury if a person tries to turn it off while exercising and it doesn't respond right away. Not sure if I just got a bum remote or if there's a signal issue between the remote and the base.I also wish it came with slower speeds. Yes, that would be great for my cat, but I don't know if anyone could use it as a jump rope at the higher speeds, especially with both "ropes" attached. I think slower speeds would allow more people, including children, to use it. Even on the slowest speed I had a little trouble jumping fast enough and that was with just one jump rope attached. And I'm in decent shape so that isn't the problem. All in all, this is a really great, novel idea. I'd never seen anything like this before I stumbled on it. I think it's a great option when a person doesn't have the ability (or desire) to leave home yet still would like to get a good workout. And I think it could be alternately marketed as an enrichment toy for pets (or at least cats) because five minutes of playing with it and my cat is worn out - mostly mentally - and ready to go take a nap.

fun and challenging
This is a pretty neat gizmo. My 5 and 8 year old sons are able to use it, and I use it as well. We find it difficult to use both ropes at once, so we just use one. That gives us time to ‘double jump,’ time to move away when we’re tired, and it’s easier to get started. The unit is charged via USB cable (included) but if you don’t want to plug it into your computer, you’ll need an adapter plug. The remote control has a button battery included – just pull the tab at the bottom. I recommend wearing socks with this since it is uncomfortable to jump on top of the wire and sometimes to get hit by it. Not too bad, though. The counter can track single (P0) or double (P1) jumps, but I don’t bother changing the mode (I can just double in my head). We definitely only use the first few speeds because we’re not superhuman. Overall, it’s a good exercise tool and I like it.

Excellent concept
Excellent concept … We were just talking about this and remembering how jumping rope when we were young was such a good exercise and I had no idea these existed! It’s hard to jump rope in our house because we have ceiling fans and lighting fixtures everywhere. I haven’t used it yet but my husband did for only a minute or two and he was out of breath and smiling! He had fun. It has 2 “ropes” 😅 well it says to start with one (what my husband used) and I think that’s a very wise idea! We are just now putting our gym together and it’s going to be a great staple for fun cardio. I like the fact that it has a remote so you can hold it in your hand so if you have to stop you can do it that way if needed.

I use it to warm up before working out
First things first, if you have kids make sure you are there to watch them. I don't have kids but this is why you should supervise your child when using this product. When increasing the level this thing will go fast and if you don't jump up in time the cable will smack your foot hard. And, man does it flipping hurt!It is a very sturdy electronic jump rope but I do wish the cable was longer. I don't like having to jump so close to the machine especially because if I did jump a certain way I could come down on the machine itself and possibly twist my ankle. It comes with two cables and I wish the other one was a different length. This is great for warming up before a workout instead doing the boring jumping jacks or using an actual skip rope. Portability wise it's great for at home but it's not something I would travel with especially because an actual skipping rope takes no space at all. I think the price point of $59.99 is a bit steep.

it definitely works!!
The media could not be loaded. I skip a lot of rope, and I really like this little contraption!! You get a whole 2 1/2 hours of jumping rope on one charge. Another awesome thing about this is that more than one or two people can jump at the same time.
