Yes, the RocketStor 6418S can support RAID and Non-RAID configurations, including JBOD and single-disks.

Q: I bought this expecting it to have usb, usbc, or thunderbolt outs to connect to a macbook. can i use a mini sata to usb adaptor to connect?

The RocketStor 6418S is designed for use with RocketRAID series PCIe Hardware and Value RAID 6Gb/s SAS and SATA HBA’s. The Enclosure you are looking for is our RocketStor 6628A or 6628T.

Q: Does this support raid 6?

Hello - this product is a drive enclosure. It can support RAID 6 if paired with one of our RAID 6 capable external RAID controllers, such as the RocketRAID 4522SGL.

Q: Will I be able to see all 8 HD at the same time?

Depends on how you configure your SAS controller. I have it setup as JBOD so I see all individual disks.
