I'm used to keeping a little notepad and pen in my back pocket opposite my wallet, or at least on my person somewhere; I have had a small "reporter's pad" (I don't know if that's a real term or if I made it up? what I've always called it), a folding case that I stick a standard paper notepad in alongside a nice durable pen for taking down thoughts, important notes, communicating silently with someone in a public setting, etc. for a long time.Well, I lost my old one. I was very upset about it. I wanted to replace it, so I got this to try.It's larger than my old one, large enough that I am considering using it to replace my wallet completely - the leather is full grain, high end cowhide. Does not have a dedicated spot for a pen but there's enough room to clip one right next to the notepad. It's nice.I'm still getting used to the difference in size but I don't think it's going to be too much of an issue.

I like this notepad cover in reporter style for my Frixion mini notebook that is also in reporter style. I can flip both the top of the cover and the notepad down and hold it in place which is more comfortable than with a book style leather case. I gave this a 4 star because only my "capped" Frixion pens properly fit (see black pen in photo) but the clickable pens don't. They cause a bump with the flap and the cover doesn't properly close (its askewed). I made a small incision (1/4") in the leather on the right side where I hook my pen in so that my favorite clickable pens will push down lower thereby allowing me to close the flap properly.

This is nice leather with solid stitching. It looks and feels nice. I wanted to see how it fits in my hand and on my person. It is too big for a standard 3" x 5" memo book (see photo). However, it would probably be perfect for a 3.5" x 5.5", which is what it is intended and advertised for. It fits in my back pocket, but not in a shirt pocket. If I decide to go with the larger memo pad, then I will keep this. If I want to stick with the 3" x 5", then I will send it back.

Nice leather cover for my Rocket Mini pad. Vertical flip is better than a side opening imo. Could be a little bit smaller but it works.

Clearly it says it's 3.5 x 5.5 inches....and then the Chinese screw it up. I'm tired of all this Chinese junk on Amazon.

My new notebook and the cover both arrived today, and this cover is beautiful! The size is perfect, and I prefer the top flip approach. It is very well made, and not too stiff. I also loved the little touches, like the cloth bag it shipped in, and the postcard and bookmark they included.

Wasn’t what I expected. I was looking for something a little more solid or stiff.

Perfect for my field notes notebooks. Good looking, easy to carry.
