Smooth idle and faster starts. Fixed my emissions problems.
After replacing, literally, every component in my ignition system my ford 300 was still misfiring pretty bad at idle. As a result, I couldn't pass emissions and renew my registration. As a last ditch effort, I put the MSD on there and it sorted the idle problem out. The truck now starts on the first turn instead of third or fourth and idles very smoothly. The inspection station commented that my emissions were the lowest he's seen on a 90s truck since they were new. I can't comment on fuel economy as I hadn't driven the truck much between purchase and installation. There was no significant improvement in power, but the throttle response is far better (stock 300 L6, no surprise there). Provided the unit gives me a few years of reliable service I'll gladly buy another when necessary.*Edit 12/21/2020* 3 years in and the unit still performs well. I did find the intial cause of my emissions issue, bad capacitors in the stock ecu. Once that was replaced the truck runs like a whole new vehicle. I've not had any issues from this msd ignition since install. I still carry bypass jumpers in my toolbox incase of failure because of other reviews, but I feel more silly everyday it doesn't fail.

Dead within 2000 miles
Truck died while idling, red LED on box was not illuminated, could not restart vehicle. Back probed 12v hot, ground, and 12v switched, confirmed wiring was not at fault. Using their vibration damper mounts and unit is shielded from hot engine parts. Not sure I trust MSD (Holley) anymore, everything I've bought from them in the past 3 years has failed within 6 months or was dead on arrival. Currently searching for a company that manufactures quality aftermarket automotive electronics.

MSD ignition box
If you are looking to update a old MSD box. Newer boxes have a nice wiring harness. This is a non rev limiter model, which is needed for a holly sniper update.

Definitely junk.. like the other guy said
Installed this evening on my well running 351m. Engine idled about 45 seconds and cut off abruptly... Immediately threw a discriminate eye towards the MSD 6A and noticed it's red status light had turned off. This happened a couple more times. Removed it and went back to having no problems. All connections tight, and wiring not installed close to any interference.

Junk
The unit I purchased was D.O.A. I returned it for a refund. These are now manufactured in China.
