St. Gobain Joist Gasket Tape, Soften Footstep Sound and Eliminate Squeaks. (3")

I have done a fair fit of sound proofing and thought this product would help decouple floor joists from subfloor/finished floor. It's always hard to make confident deductions with diagnosing sound signals, but I don't think this product has helped in any way. In fact, it sounds like it increased sound transfer through the floor assembly by making the floor act more like a drum head. Disappointing...
