We use products like this in wines that we have forgotten to chill that need to be consumed colder. So, we don't like to use ice as it dilutes the wine. Previously, we had European "stones" that didn't really make the wine cold. These cubes take several minutes to chill off the wine, but they seem to chill far better than the previous stones that we were using (that would barely have any effect). They are easy to clean (we just throw them in the dishwasher in with the silverware).

Bought for a zoo trip to keep in our water bottles to help keep the water cool. Not even a hr in and they lost their cool. Not worth it.
