The Garbage Trucks Are Here (Things That Go) Paperback – November 24, 2016

This is one of my son’s favorite books to read before bed. It describes five different types of garbage trucks and their special features in a rhyming story. Some of the wording is awkward for the sake of the rhyme, but my little guy loves it and that’s all that matters.

Like lots of toddlers, my 2 year old is obsessed with garbage trucks and this book is perfect. I love that all the types of garbage trucks are explained and the pictures and rhymes keep my little guy's attention. He loved pointing to the garbage being picked up and asks questions as best he can. We read it every night before bed. So glad I got this for him for Christmas!

This is a nice book with great illustrations. The images alone will keep your child interested. I thought the images were well done. And the rhymes inside made the story fun for me read. I also thought the book was the right length. I don't like to read books that take forever to finish around bedtime. Plus, the book teaches kids about different types of garbage trucks, which means it's a little bit educational. And that's always a nice touch. If you feel the same, then this book is for you.

This book is great in that it talks about and has multiple pages about several different types of garbage trucks! But it's weird in that some of the drawings are repeated. Like each time she draws garbage, it looks exactly the same. Copied and pasted. Weird. I still recommend it.

Thank you for delighting our child with the most fantastic educational book about garbage trucks. We now sit on the balcony each morning and note what types of garbage and recycling trucks pass our home. He loves the wordplay and the pictures. You’re the best for writing such a kid-friendly book on such a smelly topic!P.S. No scorpion petting!

I have a 3 year old son who is obsessed with everything Garbage Trucks! This is by far his and my favorite book! We just got it a week ago and we read it at least twice every night - it's such a cute book!

My almost 4 yo is obsessed with garbage trucks and he loves this book. It’s a cute book and a quick easy read and he loves looking at the illustrations. Our new bedtime storybook!

My 2-year old son was looking forward to this book so much that he was getting a 'rainbow garbage truck' book. I really like the illustration,but somehow the words appear quite difficult for kids. I am a non-native speaker, i guess that contributes too. But I have been reading a lot of kids books to my son, and for this book I had to look up quite a bit of words in a dictionary. The rhyming is quite good, and it reads nicely. But the first sentence for example, is already quite long. "Five hungry garbage trucks are on their way to clean up the mess left behind by a parade." It could have been divided to 2-3 sentences. It is very informative - that is true - you get to learn the different types of garbage trucks, and the technical terms for some parts of the truck too. But there are not really 'interesting' facts about it.. so my toddler was not so excited about the contents. However, he kept pointing to the garbage illustration and kept asking me which one is which.
