Dare to Take is Book 6 and the last story in the Dare to Love Series by Carly Phillips. Tyler Dare the youngest son has a past with his sister Avery’s best friend Ella Shaw that has been kept secret for years. While this book could be read as a standalone you will not truly appreciate the character history and complexity of the Dare family unless you read the whole series. After having a crush on Tyler for years eighteen year old Ella takes a risk one night when staying over at Avery’s house by sneaking into Tyler’s room to seduce him. The seduction doesn’t go as planned and the morning after when Tyler leaves without a word. Their once friendly banter is now conflicted and anytime they are in same room it creates a tense environment that tends to end in an argument.. When Avery calls Tyler for help when Ella is mugged in St. Lucia with a hurricane fast approaching he drops everything to get there before it makes landfall. It’s the least he can due after the way he treated her years ago and to try and apologize. While all the Dares struggle with relationships due to the betrayal of their father, Tyler is convinced long term is just not in his cards. But seeing Ella after being mugged and finding out she is being followed as well as an attempted break in at her apartment Tyler can’t help but keep her close and protect her. When they lay all their cards on the table Tyler can’t resist trying to erase the horrible memories of that night long ago by replacing them with new ones that neither will forget! Memories that create a everlasting love that only grows stronger!

Dare to Take is a second chance romance and the last in the Dare series. Like the rest of the series, it does NOT disappoint! From the first chapter, I was hooked, and I could not put the book down. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat! The characters were complex, believable, and likable. Tyler is the co-owner of a security company with a lot of baggage from his past. Ella is the assistant to a fashion designer and best friend to Tyler's little sister Avery. When Ella ends up hospitalized on a tropical island with a hurricane on its way, Avery begs Tyler to rescue Ella. What Avery doesn't know is that Tyler and Ella have a secret they've been keeping, a reason they avoid each other. Can Tyler rescue Ella in time? Who is stalking Ella, and why? Can both of them put the past behind them and make a future? Despite being part of a series, Dare to Take can easily be read as a standalone. In my opinion, the series just gets better and better with each book, and I'm sad to see it coming to an end. I highly recommend this book and this series!

I have loved this series and am sorry to see it end. Dare to Take is Tyler and Ella's story. Tyler is one hot ex-Marine who is so afraid of becoming like his father. He runs from confrontation and fears he will never be able to make a commitment. He has always felt something special for Ella. But she is his sister's best friend and is like one of the family. There was that one night, many years ago, after a party when Ella came into his room. He knew he shouldn't but he did. She was a virgin when she walked in but not when she walked out. He was so full of self-loathing and guilt he made sure to leave without having to see her again saying that his leave was cut short. Now years later and Tyler owning a large security firm he knows it is up to him to keep her safe. There is so much going on you just have to pick up this book and read it. Carly Phillips knows how write a book that will draw you in and not let go until the very end.

I love all Carley Phillips' books! I really enjoyed reading this one. Her attention to detail and the story line is inviting! I can't wait for the one next one to come out. All of her books are fun to read!

I loved Tyler and Ella's story, loved the Dare Family, hate to see it end, but it ended on a great note. Can't wait for the next book Carly writes.

*Sigh* What a great story to end the immediate Dare family saga. I'm a little sad that Carly is putting the illegitimate siblings on hold for awhile but we got a glimpse at Kaden Barnes and her new series Billionaire Bad Boys in the epilogue. So I'm excited about that. Now as for this book and Tyler and Ella, wow! I loved the history they had to get through to reach their HEA and the little bit of intrigue and danger that Ella faced. The road to their HEA were filled with sweet moments and lots of hot and steamy sex. Loved every moment.
