No breakin period needed like my last pair
This is my second pair of Chacos. My other pair has the toe loop with double straps and says Vibram soles on the bottom. The old pair is very pretty, but it took a long whole to break in and just generally felt stiffer. I loved being able to hike in it on land or water and found it easy to clean. I don't know how ppl can complain about he stink honestly bc they stink less than any sandals I've ever worn, considering how much use they would get.The problem with my old pair was that even after breaking in, of it star to get to the 2 mi marker my feet would start to rub and blister. Now my feet are a true medium, if not slightly wider, although wide is always too wide for me. My old Chacos seemed to have a little extra on the sides though. My new ones don't buy they still have just the right amount, so not sure if that will affect ppl used to the old sizing which seems slightly different. The other difference I've noticed from my older Chacos (they aren't the classics, but I'm unsure the exact model name) is that they feel a lot stiffer and heavier. The new ones still feel firm but with just the slightest amount of cushion. I can't explain it. I wouldn't want them to be too cushiony as that isn't the feel I like.I love how sturdy they feel and like me ankles are supported. Somehow they feel super utilitarian and also modern and sleek in their own way. This new pair is so comfy I've already been walking a little longer with my dog and absolutely no rubbing or blisters.I do think the toe loop ones are still slightly prettier so may keep a pair of those on hand, but these will be my go to shoes for 9 months out of the year, due to living in a hot climate.I already loved Chacos and now I love my Check Black z1 clouds even more!

Straps are adjustable.
Based on the reviews I was seeing I was unsure about getting this version of Chaco. I own a set already of limited edition national parks version but rarely can wear them because they go over the big toe and end up squeasing them. So I needed a set that didn't do that. The reviews kept saying that straps were messed up either too loose or too tight. Like most chacos you can actually adjust the straps which is what I did. I made the front straps a little tighter and loosened the ones over the arches (I have high arches). They are very comfortable once I adjusted them to fit correctly. I am unsure if it's common knowledge you can adjust the straps or not. I wear in tennis shoes an 8.5 in women's and bought a 9. Personally I think they are a tad long in the toe but we shall see how they do once I start wearing them regularly. So far I am happy with them.Update: size down. I got the 9's and they ended up being to big (i normally wear and 8.5 womens). My roommate normally wears a 9.5 womens and she is wearing them instead and says they are very comfortable.

pretty decent
I have foot issues... This one works pretty well for me but I notice if I wear most of the day my hips/low back area gets a little sore. This foot bed has what I call "the hill in the middle" for the arch area. It's not bad but I prefer the footbeds in the model, forget the name, with the toe loops.

Perfect for bunions!
I have worn Keen sandals for years for walking, travel, and light hiking but decided to try these. I am very pleased. Completely adjustable and very supportive. They have a substantial sole so are not particularly light weight but extremely comfortable even on my difficult 67 year old feet. The straps allow my bunions to be free. Take some time to adjust the straps to your feet. I usually wear a 7 or 7.5 in sandals. I purchased a 7 and they are perfect. These are my new favorite.

Loving the new style!
As an seasoned Chaco wearer, I knew what I wanted. My last pair, bless, was child’s size 5, so I was looking to update my style and graduate after four years of intensive, near everyday use (rain, shine, hiking, shopping). They were quite easy to adjust considering i kinda knew what I was wanting the fit to be like. What threw me for a small loop was that the sole was just a bit long, extending past my toes. I’ve worn other women’s size 7 chacos beforehand to make sure that was the size I wanted and they relatively did not have this minuscule, yet noticeable extra sole length at the top. It’s won’t bother the function or the fit, I was just expecting something else. This may have to do with the differing styles of the pair I tried on as they had a toe loop.Overall I am quite pleased and hope to get another 4 years out of this grown up pair!Note: I take my chacos very seriously and will update this review if I feel the need to let you know.Oh, also I’m a big fan of the softer sole. I’m not sure if it’s exclusive or new to this style of Chaco, but damn is it comfy!

avoid Cloud sole!
I want to start this review by saying I'm a longtime Chaco fan. Loved them since back in the day when they were made in the USA and came with awesome Vibram soles. I bought this pair for my wife who was having some feet problems - thought the extra padding of the "Cloud" sole would be perfect. They still look great and the strap system is unparalleled, but the Cloud sole is a disaster: it absorbs (rain/river) water so that your foot is unstable when they get wet. Worse, it absorbs foot odour like a sponge so that despite frequent washing and drying in the sun they stank to high heaven after a few weeks. We contacted Chaco customer service and they said they would "pass our input along to the design team." We've since replaced them with a new pair with the regular sole and all problems are solved. I still endorse regular Chacos (hence the three star review) but I don't endorse having to waste a bunch of money just because the company didn't bother to properly test their new product. Thanks for nothing, Chaco!

I did not know these sandals were adjustable!
I bought these sandals because my friend raved about hers. When I got them I could not squeeze my feet into them, so I returned them. My friend demonstrated that the straps on her Chacos were adjustable - she received instructions with her sandals. My sandals came with no instructions, so I am not sure if they were adjustable … perhaps I returned them unnecessarily? They seemed to be good quality and if I was able to adjust them, then I regret returning them! My 3 ⭐️ review was because I received no instructions!

good
Tough, fit, easy to walk and stylish. Already past 2 years since I use but still work. I'll buy it again.

Great product but bad fit for me.
I really like the arch support and quality, however the heel strap is too long and cannot be adjusted. I’m in between sizes and need a size strap to fit well, but my feet are better fitted for size 8 length and support. Will need to return unfortunately.

Love!
I've been wanting a pair of hiking sandals for awhile now but struggle massively to find anything that fit my small feet. I've seen a few reviews talking about upsizing for chacos so thought it was worth a shot trying to fit size 5 as I'm usually size 4 (which is nearly impossible to find)Absoutely thrilled that these fit. Each strap can be adjusted by pulling them around from the bottom.Definitly recommend these for anyone with tiny feet. And they're cute as!
