A great value for peace of mind
I got this motion detector alarm as a deterrent against home burglars. For just under $30, it certainly delivers peace of mind. It's quite small, but puts out an ear-piercing siren which is just what I like for a burglar to hear as he's climbing in through my window. It can also be used as an electronic doorbell by simply pressing a button on the unit or remote. This gives it more utility and an even better value. One big thing about this alarm that I like is that it runs straight off electricity. This means I don't have to keep worrying about the battery level as to whether it will work or not, or if the batteries are a little low and wouldn't reliably sound the siren or be loud enough, or worse yet, start leaking. Yes, it does take 3AAA batteries (included), but they play more of a backup role in case of a power failure. Otherwise, it is powered by using a USB cord that can be plugged into a wall outlet or other USB slot. When I placed the sensor and then walked around to see where it would detect me, I noticed that there are a few small areas where it didn't see me, but that was remedied by simply turning the unit slightly to make sure it detected in a particular "zone".It also comes with a simple remote which includes a CR2032 battery. I tested it and was able to arm or disarm the unit from outside my house. I even went out to the curb in front of my house which is about 50 feet from my front door and was able to arm/disarm the unit which was in my living room. The remote feels a little flimsy in its construction, but hasn't stopped functioning. The good news is that if the remote became lost or nonfunctional, the unit can still be operated with the 3 buttons located on its top, although this would necessitate being able to press the on/off button from behind the unit and then exiting the area. The buttons on top of the unit seem solid and I don't anticipate them failing anytime soon.

Helpful on a cross-country trip
I bought two of these alarms to be used inside our U-Haul during a cross country trip. I had read about theft of fully loaded U-Hauls and wanted to have some sort of alarm as a deterrence.Based on the reviews that I read I can say that it functions as advertised. You can arm it easily, it will let off a siren that although not very very loud, certainly loud enough for surrounding people to hear.We placed one in the cab, and the other within the back loading area.At night we would arm it as we slept very close by.

Scared the Raccoon
Easy to install. Set up requires a bit of trial/effort because the remote included does not match the remote in the instruction booklet. The icons on the buttons are different than the illustration and therefore have different functions than given in the instructions. I am using this in the ceiling of an outdoor pavilion to scare away raccoons that have been doing a lot of property damage. This sensor is probably meant to detect humans much larger than a raccoon, but it did eventually sense the raccoon at about 12 ft away. The alarm sound is quite loud and stunned the raccoon for a couple seconds before running away (got it on video). The light is just a red flashing light that is not very alarming at all. I was hoping for something like a blinding strobe but couldn't find the loud alarm and flood light in one unit anywhere. I have a very sensitive camera in the same area that senses the critters quicker than this alarm does, but with the remote I can manually set off the sound alarm without going outside. The remote seems to have a good strong PIR. It works from inside closed windows, across 30ft of yard and through the pavilion curtains. Handy on these very cold winter nights.

Easy to Use
The unit works well. The sound levels are appropriate, adequate but not excessive for the chime function, and quite loud for the siren function. The remote control functions well (I did not measure maximum range), and the instruction manual is clear.

works ok but limited mounting options
works fine if you can mount it right, it must be able to be mounted on its side. if it's mounted on its back then it'll be very far from the monitoring area and will miss actions. remote has a good range.

Piercing loud - excellent deterrent and responsive
Love how responsive this is, the remote control that can activate/deactivate the alarm, and the loud piercing sound. Using to further secure my storage unit. I like how this can also be connected to other devices as well to create a larger security network.

Beware...not reliable and sometimes affected from neighboring remotes.
NO VENDOR RESPONSE! Wrote 3 queries to vvendor and ...crickets. Don't use these as REAL serious security devices as someone else with these devices- their remotes can turn on and off units. Assigning remotes to Alarm units is IFFY at best. Sometimes they work after synching them and sometimes they don't. Not quality RF units as it must be frequency drift in the remote control units. No vendor response/support makes them even a worse purchase to make!

It works to keep my cats out of the corner
I am so happy I bought this. Despite having two clean cat boxes to choose from, one of my three cats kept pooping in the same living room corner. This alarm was easy to set up. When the cat walks by the sensor it beeps twice and they move along. So far in 16 days no poop! It has two settings, the 2 beeps, and then a very loud, wake up your house is on fire alarm that I accidentally set off once, that one you have to physically turn off. The two beeps one goes off and resets itself with no problem, it's set and done. A simple, inexpensive solution for me.
