So I think you do need a certain color but they don’t say that anywhere. **Q: What do they look like in regular lighting and can my fish get cauggt in the line** A: Well they certainly aren't as bright as advertised even with a blue night light. I don't use the string but let them bob around by themselves. I too was afraid my fish would get caught in the line.
