Should have used better packaging, as there was slight damage on one corner. The maple and sapele wood veneers are very thin but are extremely well fitted, with not misalignment or gap problems.

Product looks well built but the packaging is sub par. The whole perimeter of the board needs protection not just the corners. Cardboard could be heavier also and bigger overall so more packing materials can be added and act as a buffer. Hopefully the next one doesn’t come in damaged.

impressive and at a good price This chess board meets all my expectations in quality and price because even incidentally, my cat loved it. Design, apparent strength of wood, pleasant to the touch and sight. Perfect, it made my day. I am proud of this chessboard—the most beautiful one I ever saw. It arrives packaged extremely carefully, so that it is not damaged in transit. It is large, heavy, as smooth as satin on top, odor-free, with a rubber pad at each corner on the bottom. Woodgrain is visible, making it look classy. The alpha-numeric symbols around the perimeter are large enough and contrast enough to make them easy to read. I can't see a single flaw. Highly recommended. I wish every chess aficionado had a board this nice.

I’m so thankful I was able to find a chess board that feels and looks premium for under $100. It’s not solid wood, but who cares! It’s huge and looks great!
