Another big thing was that there seems to be little to no shock to my hands, wrists or elbows on fat shots, which is a big plus as it's prevented fatigue and injury. The turf top from the floor is roughly 1.75in, so I got a .75in thick piece of plywood and cut out a hole for the Flight Deck and then a cheaper mat to use as a stance mat and cut a hole out for the Flight Deck fibers. Very good construction and should last a long time if you take reasonable care. It does sit about 2" above the ground due to the thickness of the "grass." So, the ball will actually be a trifle above your feet. I got it yesterday and used it outside for about an hour with irons and woods. I stood on a couple of thick door mats to level my feet with the mat. I put the mat on concrete and it did not move when hitting the ball. Later, I moved to grass and it also worked fine. It is definitely quality construction. I especially like that the mat is in a frame, which will prevent fraying and curling. The tee works well and is easily removed for iron practice. Overall, this is a very good practice mat.
