Unlike the one that came with my baffler, this one fit snugly to my shepherds hook. Easy to attach. FYI: When attaching: pay attention when putting in the screws to which side has the holes that are shaped like a nut and the corresponding hole that is round like the head of the screw. That helps with getting a snug hold on the pole. Will be buying another one for the other squirrel baffler I have.

I tried many “rigs” - to set the baffle on its pole position without one of these first - due to the serious overpricing of it.But squirrels are tenacious critters that consider a birdfeeder to be not only a treat - but as if it’s a playground equipment challenge. They are amazingly resourceful and can be very destructive.Squirrels can easily jump downward 8 ft from a neighboring bush, climb up a pole or hang by their toes with ease - and bite through nearly all wire, cable ties, tape, or plastics - (including polypropylene baffles) - with enjoyment!But this baffle mount securely holds the baffle from sliding down, yet allows it to “tip” when they attempt to board it, or use it to gain access to the items above it.I have multiple feeders - but only one that hangs on a tree from a “shepherds hook” rod. Due to the “arrangement” of the configuration differing slightly when they “hang”, - any such feeders are near impossible to protect. Squirrels have an acrobatic high-wire act that is tough to beat. But I digress.The only sure-fire plan that I found that succeeds in keeping the varmits from getting to the feeders are when the poles are mounted in the ground. And THIS mount is perfect for holding the baffle in place.$16 is disgusting. But I am a sore loser - and this is war!

I haven’t seen any squirrels trying to climb, yet. Assembling it was a bit difficult because my pole was small. What I did was glue the spacers together. Putting the screws on was also difficult because they are small.But I like it.

Doesn’t allow enough tilt to deter the squirrels. Maybe my baffle is too small??
