It is excellent for car camping and light enough to take backpacking ...
This tripod integrates seamlessly with my Solo Campfire and Titan stoves. It is excellent for car camping and light enough to take backpacking if you are planning meals that need more range in cooking temperature. The tripod easily sets up and breaks down in a couple of minutes. The fit and finish is excellent. Solo is a USA made product company. They are based in California. They also have an excellent customer service team that will answer any product questions you have and try and resolve any product issues. This is one of those items you will get a lifetime of use out of.

Compact yet sturdy
This compact tripod is surprisingly sturdy when assembled. The chain that is used to raise and lower the pot is easy to adjust. Could not ask for much more other than a lower price.

I tested this to see how it holds up
I tested this with a Lodge cast iron 8 quart deep side Dutch oven that was about half full of water (about 30 pounds) and it held up fine. The legs were stuck about 1/2" in the ground. I nudged it and swung the pot slightly and it remained stable. If this were used on rock or hard ground you would have to secure the legs from splaying out when it carries a load (as would be the case for any tripod). The threads connecting the leg segments are not as prone to cross threading as some suggest because the thread pitch is relatively coarse. It stows compact and is light weight. I did recently see a similar product on Amazon for about $10 less, but this is still a well designed product.

Perfect for that extra level of confidence
I purchased the tripod to use with the Solo Campfire and cookset. Was it necessary? No. The Solo Campfire and cookset are well built. A quite sturdy. But when you have 2 Liters of stew in the pot and over the flames, the last thing you want is for an inadvertant bump to send dinner into the dirt. Have no fear that the tripod is sturdy enough. In it's first test, I boiled up 2 Liters of water in the big pot, fully suspended from the tripod. If anything, the rig seems to tighten up with the suspended weight. In camp, it is actually nice to leave the pot on the tripod, but away from the Solo Stove, for serving. You can conserve table space without putting the pot on the ground.Collapsed, the tripod packs to a length a few inches taller than the packed Solo Campfire, so storing the tripod in the Solo stuff bag isn't a good option.

Great Addition for Any Solo Pot
A great addition for any Solo pot for which they were designed. Not so great for Dutch oven cooking. I love this tripod and use it with the Solo pot designed for the Titan, though it can be used with any Solo pot. It keeps the pot at a selected distance from the Solo stove and greatly enhances simmering foods cooked in a pot. When I first received the tripod, I learned quickly that the best way to assemble it was to grasp the legs near to the rods when attaching the separate pieces. I can then assemble the tripod in a minute or so. Do you need the tripod? Well, if you use a Solo pot, you will find this tripod most beneficial for cooking. The small bag it comes in makes this tripod so convenient for camping and back packing that it is, for me, an essential Solo cooking tool.

Not made for large family use
Tripod is made for a very small pot or kettle. Very light weight. Good if you are only cooking for yourself.

format interressant, leger

Solo Stove Dreibein: kompaktes, leichtes

Quality constructed fire tripod
A necessity for the Solo Titan stove which allows for more room to feed the fire without risk of knocking off the pot.Can be used on any open fire to support a pot not just for use with the Titan Stove. Comes with a good quality sack to hold the various pieces. Chain and hook can easily be adjusted to any height above the fire.

Great fire tripod!
strong and durable this tripod meets and exceeds my expectations. If carrying is a problem it can be packed with the tent poles.
