Shrek Sleeping Beauty Costume

Overall this is a pretty dress that my daughter will LOVE. The fabric is synthetic (to be expected) and thus somewhat itchy inside. But it seems pretty well made and like it will hold up.I was surprised to discover that the sleeves are detachable. Since I was trying to find a long-sleeved dress for wintertime dress up play, I wasn't thrilled about that. The sleeves attach with 3 little velcro squares on each shoulder. The velcro is white so it totally stands out on the dark blue fabric. I choose to remove the velcro and sew the sleeves on at the shoulder. This was relatively easy to do and now it looks very nice as a finished dress. I suspect the velcro would not have held the sleeves in place sufficiently and my daughter would have worn it without the sleeves most of the time and would have been irritated by the itchiness of the velcro.I ordered the smallest size for toddlers and I think this size is just perfect for my tiny 4-year-old who generally wears size 2T-3T.The dress was very wrinkled when it arrived but I was able to iron it on a low setting. A small plastic "tiara" hair comb came with it. It is very cheap and not likely to hold up very long. The package also contained several Shrek tatoos.
