Kool StopThinline Threaded Brake Pad

No complaints here.There are some weird flutes at the base of the post that increase the diameter ever so slightly larger than the internal diameter of the included washers. I can't say I understand the need for this as other pads don't have this, and these pads try to rotate when tightening just like any other brake pad. But they're there, and during tightening, the too-small washer is forced down along these flutes for a tight interference fit.These pads are straight, not arced, and being 70mm in length I had some concern that they wouldn't work well with the 406mm (20" BMX diameter) rims I was installing them against. No worries there, the tips don't quite touch the tire's sidewall, and the center part of the pad is all against the rim. These aren't the ideal length for this application, but I bought 'em because they're yellow and I wasn't finding any shorter choices.They modulate well and don't make any noise, installed with non-adjustable Tektro V brakes.

I ride to work and back every day in San Francisco over some rather large hills. I go through brake pads about every 2 months, and I usually just buy the cheapest ones I can find. However, I decided to switch up my strategy and give the Kool Stops a try. Here's a summary of my experience1. Easy to install2. After first putting them on, they have very little breaking power! This is clearly stated on the package, and should not be ignored.3. Once broken in, these brake pads are great! No problems in rain and they don't fade after extended use.I would definitely recommend them for anybody commuting in hilly or rainy areas!

Wow can i give these 6 or 7 stars out of five? I had no idea brake pads could stop like this. At 180 pounds i can almost lock up rear with rear alone. Before my stock gary fisher brakes would barely retard my speed at all.These are insane...who cares about disc brakes with these. Best upgrade you'll ever make... And for 20 bucks. And nice feel of braking. With both brakes squeezed i can lock up both tires. Pretty shocking. These are a no brainer upgrade. Will never buy any other pad again. Only affirms no need for disc brakes.

They work and they look good on my White/Black 2018 Specialized Sirrus. Have 20 or so miles on them and they stop when I need to.

Hands down, The best break pads you can put on your bike. I pull a pedicab behind my K2 mountain bike. With the trailer weight and a load of passengers I'm pulling around 1000 lbs. These pads bring it all to a stop. Fantastic in the rain. I'm a fanatic about my bike and maintenance. Once properly adjusted they NEVER squeal. Well worth the money.

These pads were great for my sons MTN bike and we sure tested them on our 4day camping trip. My son and all his cousins rode the bike all over the camping ground and these brake pads held up and more. Pretty easy to install and happy I bought them for my son.
