First of all - my house had the 4 wires. You need them. There are "work arounds" - but why??Just get the one you need and count wires in your wall BEFORE you order.Also - I have the 2.4g router - ALL of my smart switches, lamps and fans require the 2.4 - so I installed one 3 years ago just for them!Yes: I use a 5g router for my computers, printers, tablets, phones, etcI ** DID NOT ** use the app that came recommended with the switch - but only because I am lazy.I have other switches on the "SMART LIFE " app and this switch connected to it and Alexa flawlessly.I didn't rate the "Tech Support" as there was absolutely no reason to call them.Even came with little stickers so you can label the wires in your wall - just in case.I did not use their wall plate that came with it - I installed this in a double gang box and picked up a double wall plate at the local hardware store.Looks like the picture - works like it says and does what it is supposed to----AND:Got my girlfriend off my back about shutting off the light - WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR!?!?!

I will preface this by saying that I have not used the smart switches at the time of writing this review.I got the 4 pack and received 3 smart switches and one dimmer switch.Wisebot responded that it is not their problem so I contacted Amazon who is replacing it at a slower shipping rate then my original purchase. So I now have lights that I have installed that are useless for 3 more days.

Easy to install, works perfectly

I've been tackling some switch replacements since I had an electrician come over and told me that's why some lights weren't working. I was going to have him do the jobs but others told me it's easy to DIY and it would save me $$$$. This is a really simple 4 wire with nuts/caps system. You need ground (the copper one), neutral (the white ones), a line that comes from the power source, and the load that goes to the fixture. Note: the wattage on this totally allows it to go to a light/fan combo, but it's only an on and off switch... so if you have a light/fan combo with the pull chains it will work but you have to adjust the fan at the chains. This was great as that's what the bedrooms in my house have.I did run into one area I couldn't put it as the hall light didn't have a neutral... first one I ran into that didn't in this over 50 year old house. But other than that it's amazingly compatible. And fairly simple install. I had some issues getting the neutral on as in my house some of the neutrals have a lot of lines together and the nuts/caps hardly fit over them... for those I cut the end of the white wire on this piece and make it fray a bit and go around the wires that are already clumped together, and I use the larger nuts that are already covering these clusters. (It would be nice to be provided a couple of extra large nuts in case one runs into this issue.)Pairing was pretty easy. You need to either use the app it recommends or another smart life app to recognize the switch. Then you pair that app with your Alexa account. It works great, but takes a little playing around to figure it out. Works as expected and I'm happy with product.

While I was upgrading some fans in the house, I decided to upgrade some of the wifi switches too. Mainly because I HATE meross and their app. So I was given the chance to do it over and I took it. Everything in my home works on Smartlife. Switches work fine and so does the app. My older versions of wifi switches have blue lights on them. These look more like a traditional rocker style switch so I think they look better. I use these and everything else with Alexa. Although she has been weird lately.

Over-all a good product.The wires seemed slightly short for installation, though that could be typical of modern switches.Also, the switch itself doesn't stick out as much as standard flat rocker switches, making them a little more difficult to find and operate manually (when you can't see the switch).

Sent it back as the wiring configuration was inconsistent with standard code wiring for 3-way switches

Bought some Gosund smart plugs before and tried to get some smart switches after but in vain. So I contacted their support and was assured that this brand will work with the app, and they do. It also comes with wire nuts, so installation was a breeze.
