The first time the boat hit one of these, the top came off leaving a metal bracket exposed to the paint of the boat. The top and bottom are only screwed on and the screw pulls out easily from the rubber. I bought another brand where the bolt runs the entire length and is held on by a nut at each end, a much better design.Of course, the return window closed quickly and I cannot get my money back

I bought these at a discounted price. They are perfect for what I needed I topped them off with 2 inch schedule 40pvc. Yes the u bolts are fairly small in diameter but if you do not overtighten then they are just fine. They are stainless steel they will not stretch they break. I haven't had any problems with mine at all.

The U-Bolts they give you are cheaply made. They are too small to hold.The compression bracket bends so easily, then you end up having to weld the bracket on which then it becomes non-adjustable.But the major problem with these is they are not galvanized. There's not even a coating on the inside of these things at all... At all!!!I bought a set last year and this year, I just had to order another set to replace them because they were already rusted through from the saltwater use. I made sure this set said that they were galvanized because I wasn't sure last year. But sure enough, they said galvanized! But they are far from it. The insides of the tubing is not even painted.I doubt the cheap coding they put on these is even cold applied. Looks like DTM enamel. If you are using these in salt water, don't waste your time! You will be replacing them in a year or less.Unless you are going to take these somewhere and have them hot dipped, don't waste your money.

Like the guides but need a new bolt. Easy to install. Get a new bolt will change to 5 star.

Like others have posted, the wood plants are cheap glued together plywood poorly wrapped with carpet and not rubber like the description states. The mounting poles are thicker than I imagined and seem to be well made. Others said the u bolts would work on a smaller frame and my cross members are 2” square tubes. The u-bolts were too long to mount with the nuts on top of the plate. I ended up spending $20 for tie plates so I could put the u part of the bolts over the top and put the threaded sides down through the tie plate to sandwich the boat trailer cross member in between. I wouldn’t have needed the tie plates if my cross member was 3” tall as the u bolts were not threaded down far enough. I only see this working without adjustments if your cross member is between 2 and 2.5 inches wide and 3 inches tall.

Very happy with these trailer guides. Thay work great and the solar lights are s great bonus. I did put one stainless steel screw in each light to attach it to the guides so I wouldn't worry about them coming off or being removed by someone when parked. They work great and flash at night but also make the ends more visible in the daytime. I made sure to lube the threads of the stainless steel u bolts when tightening them and not over tighten. I also drilled a couple of holes in the sides of the guides near the top so air can escape when being submerged. They are working out great.

The guides installed easily and worked well the first few times. After using them on my boat trailer a few times, I noticed the rubber top and bottom caps were only held on by small 1in screws ran into the rubber of the big main cylinder. They started to unscrew on their own when the boat rubbed against them. They unscrewed instead of spun on the bracket. I just made a habit of screwing them back in after pulling my boat out. That worked okay for a while, however, I just finished pulling my boat across the state for a trip. Upon arriving, I noticed that one of the top caps was missing. It unscrewed itself while traveling down the road. Without the top cap, the main center cylinder is not retained. I will remove the rubber roller completely and install a carpeted board instead. Not worth the $80 these cost me.

piece of junk. The brackets are very thin and can,t take the pounding of the trailer bouncing. The 1st bracket broke in my driveway, I hadn,t even taken the boat out. I complained to the manufacturer and they sent replacement within a week and a half. The snd one broke after a short half hour drive. I do not recommend this. Don,t buy.

I put the guides on my trailer and overnight the bolt snapped on one side, the next night night the bolt on the other side snapped. Rubbish quality fitting kit and could cause major problems if the bolts snap whilst driving! I've notified the company and the after service is horrendous! It wasn't even the correct kit for the instructions...
