Antennas screw-on to the units and are fully able to swivel/rotate to accommodate various mounting configurations. As for "extension cord", if you mean 'power', yes, you can add length to the power cord to increase your placement of the units if that helps. If by chance you mean "extending the length of the HDMI cable feeding the TX or leaving the RX unit(s), be careful to make sure the distance of that/those cables don't degrade your signals at either end, which won't be the fault of the TX/RX units, but rather a failure of the HDMI cables to pass the amount of available signal properly at certain distances.

Can I buy the TX (transmitter) only? Our building was robbed and they took the TX (transmitter) unit but I still have the two RX (receiver) units.

Have not had any issues. Check that the origin device (TV or other device) is actually sending sound from its HDMI jack.
