Sizing is for "normal" shaped people only; chart is inaccurate
So, I have tried 2 of these so far--Women's X-Lg (WX) and Men's M1. *Pfft*. I am 5'4" and not quite 170# of muscle from decades of XC skiing, swimming, and strength training--so I have a massive rib cage and not much breast tissue. I should be a MS (men's stocky) or WS (Women's short and large). Um...they apparently don't make those in sleeveless shorties--I had to email the company to find this out--hence, their chart is "off"/wrong--why list a suit you can't buy? seems lazy to not remove that size from the chart in the suits not sold IN that size. So, I can't get the size I actually need. I did what the chart said and went to a WX, adding 7 lbs for my large rib cage ["chest"]The W XL was fine in the legs & torso and bunchy in the chest/neck--apparently, all large women are DD chests, but don't have the rib cage span to go with it; the Men's M1 was fine in the legs and WAY too tight in the torso--like, I could not even begin to zipper it--apparently, all Medium men have NO chest. The email with their rep. recommends a M2, but I am leery about hoping third time's a charm, after two let-downs. The feel of the neoprene is fine, and I love the idea of a short john b/c in the Summer of Coivd, I am outdoor swimming only, and mix breast stroke in with freestyle and back. But at this point, I may have to go to another brand. I have almost always been a Men's standard Medium, even if I have a little extra length in the torso/crotch. But not with this brand. So, if you have an odd shape, this may not be the company for you.UPDATE: After trying the M2 AND the W3 (ordered at about the same time), I returned the M2 and the W3 is a better fit. Basically, I followed their guidelines of "add 7 lbs" if bigger in the chest/shoulders with the WX--However, this was not a good idea, since apparently they assume all women have breasts to go with extra shoulders/rib cage. The extra hip room in the W3 helped make it work in the rib cage--vs. the men's, which has a narrower hip area (not surprising). So, I could not zip the M2 alone, but could do so with the W3, and it wasn't bunching at my neck. After swimming in it, it is quite comfy and the extra flexibility in the legs is def. what I wanted. So, I would give it a 3.5--durable, comfy, lots of room. The zipper itself it fine, but I think the pull should be a winder strip of fabric/more to "grip" as you pull it up (why it is not a 4/5). I still have the gripe about not being clear that the "stocky" sizes are only made in certain suits, since that was what got me excited about the company in the first place.

Great suit for lap swimmers
Purchased this wet suit after reviewing feedback on many - Needed something for lap swimming in a pool with inconsistent heating, and a suit that would double for open water swimming in lakes and calm ocean waters. Took a chance on the size - based on the charts for height and weight I could have ordered a W1 , (5' 8.5" and 132 lbs) but I went with a W2 based on the advice to size up for those of us with longer torsos -- so glad I did! The suit fits well enough and it makes swimming in chilly water so much better! If you lap swim like me, a sleeveless suit is the way to go. The arm holes on this suit are not at all restrictive, the neckline is comfortable and I can manage the zip without any assistance. Also, I love the added 'lift' the suit gives me - I know my stroke and my kick are more even. The only reason I did not rate this product a 5 is because I have only had it for a short period and have only swum in it 3 times - so far, it is great! Just want to make sure it holds up over time. I believe it will - very well made.

Finally a wetsuit I can breathe in!
I have tried many many wetsuits, often trading with swim friends to try to find a good fit. This shortie farmer john wet suit finally won all of us over. It is not constrictive in the chest so I can breathe without feeling claustrophobic. It offers buoyancy and keeps your core toasty warm. I will use it in the chilly mountain lakes in Colorado when the temp is between 60 and 70 for open water swims. It is not as warm as a full body suit, but for open water swimming it is the perfect compromise. I think it runs true to size. Initially I bought up a size, but returned it for a W1. My only complaint is that it rubs the back of my neck on the right side creating a "hot spot." A bit of Glide helped, but I think a bit of redesign would easily solve this. (I trimmed the neck a bit, which also helped). Good Luck, and happy swimming!

Synergy Endorphin was the perfect one for my body shape (4'11 and 146lbs) and ...
Just completed my first tri. To get ready for it, I tried on 3 different brands (Aqua Sphere, Neosport, and Synergy) of wetsuit at different length, sleeves and sizes. Synergy Endorphin was the perfect one for my body shape (4'11 and 146lbs) and purpose. It gives me enough buoyancy, warm enough for California ocean and the sleeveless freed my arms to do strokes comfortably, tho the arms opening feel a bit wide and low. It was an easy fix, I wore a sports bra under. This wetsuit doesn't feel loose in different parts like other ones I've tried on. Also liked that the area around the chest and neck is made of a thinner material so I don't feel so hot and restricted. Zipper in the back was easy to zip up, down and it stayed in place during my swim. The packaging is also amazing and clearly thought out, unlike other brands. Loved the free swim cap that it came with as well. Highly recommended.

Love my new Synergy Endorphin QuickJohn wet suit
I just bought this & have used it in open water just once but so far it's a winner. I'm 5'41/2", 126 lbs. I'm on the high end of the P3 size & the low end of the W1. If I was at my racing weight, I would have bought the P3 but I'm not right now & just wanted an easy to get into wet suit to swim in for the summer. So I got the W1. I didn't have any neck problems, range of motion I had with my arms was a wonderful surprise. I do wear a long sleeve bathing suit for sun protection. Wet suit is Very easy to slip into. I wanted the buoyancy of a long suit & wasn't sure the short suit would be enough. Even though this suit has no long arms or legs, I felt very secure that it would keep me a float. ( new open water swimmer/ 63 yrs old ). I would recommend this suit. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
