Prym Small Knitting Mill, Purple

I simply love this machine! Im new to knitting and crochet. I gotta be careful if the thickness of yarn. This knitting mill dies best with #2 weight yarn. I wish Prym would make a 24 needle machine like this one. The pins are impressive!

This product is total garbage. The latches on the hooks don’t open/close properly, somehow resulting both missed stitches and knots simultaneously. The internal gears were skipping and misaligned even with no yarn on the device. The crank shaft is cheap plastic, so forcing past a knot resulted in the crank shaft snapping. Flimsier than a single strand of yarn. Terrible design, non functional, an complete waste of time and money.

There is a learning curve for sure. You have to be very careful in the beginning to make sure your cord stays on the machine the correct way however once you figure it out it is a fast process. I'm using regular acrylic red heart yarn and having a blast making tie cords for my knit sweatpants. You do have to pull down sometimes on the cord to ensure the loops pull down enough to proceed with the knit process. The weight could be better, I've seen ones that you clip to the cord so you can control the tension better . Overall a decent product for the price, patience is key though.

So much fun to use. Very satisfying to see the cord "magically" appear. User tip and no fault of the device or manufacturer, make sure the cord can dangle freely as it twists while being created. If you don't, it ends up a mess and you don't get quite as smooth of a cord as you would like. Also the yarn they recommend is the yarn you should use. Heavier and it won't "auto" pull through.

I watched tons of YouTube videos and TikTok... But nothing worked. I tried thinner yarns, thicker yarns, placing them on different hooks at the start, and even turning it as slowly as possible. Nothing worked. I do notice some of the bottom hook pieces weren't fully coming up when they were supposed to. I'm not sure if it was a malfunction with the one I got or if it was just a user error that I couldn't seem to fix with any attempts. I did return it and I was sent my money back with no troubles so at least I wasn't stuck with a product that I would've ended up throwing against the wall if I would've kept it any longer.

It would only take thin yarn and was hard to feed, crank, and hold.

The feel of the product is great and I was excited to use it. It came in today and I tried using it. The hooks don't move with the yarn smoothly. It latches onto the tiniest but of fiber. I tried 3 different types of yarn, all within the recommended yarn weight, and none of them worked. They all jammed up on the hooks. The cleat plastic piece prevented me from being able to fix the jam. I did get it to work for about 1/2 and inch but that was it. This is definitely going back.

Nachdem der Herr mir etwas Hirn vom Himmel geschickt hat, lief es super! Egal ob mit Baumwollgarn oder Sockenwolle, die Strickmühle funktioniert super! Bin einfach begeistert und es macht Spaß. Gerne wieder, sollte sie mal den Geist aufgeben!..👍👍👍

3rd one I’ve ordered. The metal flaps didn’t retract or just give up. In fairness the company do refund, but that’s not the point. I want a working one.

Si haces manualidades te va a encantar. Al principio cuesta un poco de trabajo pero con la práctica es muy fácil su uso.

Contrairement aux commentaire qui disent que le tricotin et ses crochets ne prennent pas le fils si! Il faut juste bien lire les instructions car il y a des passages où les crochets ne sont pas censé prendre le fil. Une fois que c’est partie il est hyper efficace et rapide!
