Best Zip Tie Tool That I Have Owned
Over the years in my business, I have used thousands of wire ties. I have used other Zip Tie Tools with varying degrees of success. Many is the time that I have reverted back to my trusty needle nose pliers and wire cutters. After familiarizing myself with this Superun Zip Tie Tool, I really like the way that it functions. It is narrow and well designed to work in tight spaces. It works well on a number of widths, from tiny to large wide zip ties. How to use the tool: This tool operates like a pair of pliers or wire cutters. There are 2 handles, a long and a short, on one side of the tool. The other side of the tool has a single long handle. To use the tool, first wrap the zip tie around the item. Then insert the zip tie in to the binding end of the tie and slightly hand tighten it. The 2 handle side of the tool, is the same side where the end of the zip tie, is inserted in to the tip opening in the tool. The tie end will slip through through the slit/opening, past the cam gear teeth that will grip the tie. Then squeeze the 2 long handles together, to tighten the zip tie to the desired amount. (Do not over tighten) Once tight, the remaining waste portion of the zip tie can be cut off by depressing the short handle. Note: The short handle moves the cut-off blade. Be careful not to accidentally squeeze the short handle while gripping the two long handles. If done, it will cut off the zip tie before it is tight.I will offer a few other tips on using this tool: If your zip tie end is inserted in this tool correctly, it really locks on to the tie. It will in fact, hold it so tightly that one can stretch and break the zip tie. You have to get the feel for it to avoid over tightening. Also, whenever possible, insert the end of the zip tie in to the tip of the tool, as straight as you can. The cutter will of course cut off the zip tie at the same angle that it was inserted in to the tool. Angle cuts will leave a sharp point where the zip tie was cut. The sharp angle can be easily corrected with wire cutters or scissors.I hope this is helpful.

Nice tool, made for larger zip ties
I'm an electronics hobbyist and so tend to use smaller zip ties. The bottom opening in this is rather large, so small zip tie heads might fall through it. You can hold it off to one side to prevent this, but I would have liked a smaller slot. I can also cut the remainder off a bit closer with my diagonal cutters, but the built-in cutter does a nice job too. It's easy to accidentally start squeezing on the cutter handle rather than the tensioner handle, but this is a small price to pay for having the actions separate. I don't want a tool making up its mind when to stop tensioning and then cutting. The build, paint, engineering, and all are very nice, the tool is really worth the price. You can tension the tie so much it actually snaps off, which is great for when you need a really high tension tie. Totally beats two needlenose pliers. I should have bought one of these years ago.

Great for banding and sorting chickens
You can pay a lot for the ones made specifically for chickens, or you can use these that are the same thing. And bonus, they come with a case!
