Old mouse died need a new one in a hurry, this is a great little mouse. Works as it should at great price.

This mouse is stylish, works and connects just fine, and I got it at a great price. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought this mouse to replace an aging Microsoft branded equivalent and it works equally well. The MSFT had become erratic possibly because I have a dozen USB peripherals competing for bandwidth on a Lenovo portable I use for Zoom music meetings with an external mic and external camera. When I added a soundbar with subwoofer for monitoring sound mouse tracking got sketchy. I noticed this mouse was 2.4 Ghz and it's signal seems able to break thru the electronic clutter. Other factors influencing my decision: I wanted to buy direct from Amazon and I wanted red color to differentiate from the other mice sitting on my desk. Over time I will probably buy more of this model. I haven't used it long enough to comment on sleep or battery life, hence the neutral ratings. You'll need a magnifier to decipher the owner's manual battery polarity illustration; it's not what it seems at first glance.

The Amazon Basics cordless "mini" mouse is one of those "wireless mouse plus little USB receiver" devices. It seem sto be positioned to compete with the Logitech m325 model. The USB receiver is hiding in the battery compartment, which is accessed by removing a door in the underside. This must be plugged into an available USB port for the mouse to function. The mouse must also be switched on using a tiny switch in its underside. The mouse takes two AAA batteries. There is a sort of plastic ribbon thing that is used to help pull the batteries out when they need replacing. The mouse is fitted with the usual two buttons and a wheel. The wheel is the sort that softly clicks as one turns it. the wheel has a vertical click movement too. On connecting the receiver to a windows machine the drivers will start to download. I have no idea what you do with linux or Apple machines, but I expect the process is similar. If the mouse does not connect properly after the drivers finish downloading, there is a button in the underside of the mouse to signal the receiver to try again. Upsides: Inexpensive at around $18. Good size for the hand. Once installed works well on desk-type surfaces or on fabric upholstery from my tests. Downsides: As expensive as the better (in my opinion) Logitech m325. Two AAA's less convenient in my household than Logitech's single AA. Contour less comfortable in my hand than Logitech m325. Mouse wheel lacks the "side click" capability of Logitech m325. Plastic battery removal ribbon gets in the way when trying to refit battery door. Annoyances: Switch very small and fiddly. Battery door pops off when mouse dropped. Good luck finding it under the furniture. The design is an "unlatch, swing out and remove" one, with the door itself being small enough you'll want to take care to put somewhere it can't walk away from while you install the batteries. The drivers seemed to take forever to install from Windows Update, far longer than the Logitech m325. The whole seems to be an older design than the equivalent Logitech m325. If you have the choice I'd say go for the Logitech m325, which costs about the same on Amazon right now. It just seems to be better thought-out.

Great mouse, very comfortable and works fine.

I was getting really upset when this mouse died without warning, I changed several batteries, checking wit a battery tester and nothing worked. So I went to Amazon to order a new one because I didnt remember where it came from...and low and behold, the last purchase of same mouse was SEVEN years ago. In the age of rip off and scam where everything is made to last less than half the life it used to, I'd say this was definitely a bargain!

Works as advertised, great price

Great mouse, lightweight, easy set up, simple use, nice colour, good packaging, and even comes with the two AAA batteries you need to start using it. I love Amazon Basics and the are the only mouse I purchase for daily (non-gaming) use. This one is no exception and it fits daily use perfectly.

Besides the computer itself, the mouse you operate it with is the least costly most important part of the entire system! Wouldn't it be great if you could find such an irreplaceable part that was cheap, reliable and indestructible? That's the Amazon Essential Mouse! I have two others and they work just fine but I keep adding computers. You don't need 15 extra buttons on your mouse unless you are 13 years old.

Sehr preiswerte Maus. Suchte eine neue Maus ohne Soft Grip. Läuft sehr gut. Rad ist präzise. Klick Geräusch zur Überraschung sehr leise. Für kleine und mittlere Hände gut greifbar. Im Verhältnis zu teueren Produkten sein Geld absolut wert. Immer wieder gerne.

This wireless mouse works perfectly and there's no delay. I'm surprised it also has batteries included. I'm very happy with that.
