Works great
The Crypto drive works great. However, before I purchased it I wanted to know how it got set up. I searched the web but couldn't find the description. I purchased it and found it was easy and logical to set up. But for others who are considering purchasing the device, here's my description of how it works. The device actually looks like two devices to your computer - a CD drive and a thumb drive. When you plug it in, you don't have access to the thumb drive, of course, but you do have access to the "CD". You select the .exe program (if autoplay doesn't work) and the program leads you through the set up, including establishing your password. Once you do that, the access program starts and you enter your password. After that, when I plug the thumb drive in, I get a window that asks me what to do, same as for a CD drive. I select "Run totallock.exe" which brings up a window to enter my password (actually, I have to click on a button before that but you'll figure it out). Some people earlier said that the device is slow. I did not find that. I loaded about 50 MB of data to it and it appeared to load about as fast as a none crypto thumb drive.Couple of things I like to see changed.1. When the password window comes up, the cursor is not in the password field. So you have to click on the password field first. Seems that it would be easy to position the cursor there so when you typed it would go into the field. But no, I start typing and nothing happens.2. After a certain time without access, the device shuts down and you have to re-enter the password. While I like that feature, the time interval is fixed and cannot be changed. I'd like to see an option to set the time out interval. While it might make sense to limit how long the time out can be, a maximum of something like a half hour would not be unreasonable. But these are minor complaints. The device does what it's suppose to, it's easy to use, and it's fast enough for my usage.

and a few seconds later it works like any other USB drive
I am a Physician and I have been using this for over a year with both Windows (XP) and Mac. As a physician, any patient information that I store is required by law to be encrypted to 128 bit or higher, so I needed to buy an encrypted USB drive when I started working as a doctor. This is the first one I bought and it has worked perfectly. Its small, maybe 3" or so. There is NO software to install - you can plug into any computer and start using it right away. When you plug into Mac or Windows you open the "Crypto" icon; it takes ~30 sec to load up each time you plug in, then you enter your password, and a few seconds later it works like any other USB drive. The 30 sec delay (instead of 5 sec) is the ONLY difference I notice compared to a regular USB drive. Also, even if I don't use the drive for a while, as long as its plugged in to the same computer I basically never get 'logged off' -- I like that because I would find it a huge nuisance to have to repeatedly be logging in during the day just because I didn't use the drive for 5 or 10 min. Assume that you will lose the little cap; I knew it would happen (took ~3 months); it's too bad but no reason to give less than 5 stars. I will definitely buy this brand again when needed.

totally nonfunctional
This product seemed to be working OK. Then I entered the wrong password a couple of times followed by the right password. It did not recognize the password but never gave me a warning or told me that I had surpassed the allowed number of failures. Per the manual it was supposed to do that. I used the utility provided to delete info and start from scratch. It gave me fields for personal info but never gave me a field for a new password yet kept telling me my password did not meet specifications. Total failure on Dell computer running Windows 11.

Clearer instructions needed, but good overall
Difficult to see how to save and retrieve files, but security features seem to work well.

Un-Hackable
Integral built these things secure. They are built to the FIPS 197 standard and are encrypted at the AES 256 bit hardware encryption that requires mandatory encryption of all files.HARDWARE:The drive its self is covered with a thick rubberized coating outside. A thick Steel inner casing is sealed with epoxy that prevents internal tampering. If anyone tries to open the drive they will render it un-useable. It is resistant to drops & abuse as well as waterproof (or at least resistant) On top of all that the drive is really small only 2.5 in' long making it easy to store, carry, or hide.SOFTWARE:The software that comes with the drive has no footprint (meaning that no software is installed on the computer you are using). There is mandatory AES 256 bit hardware encryption and a high strenght password (enforced by a strict password policy) is required to place, access or delete the data. The software prevents brute force attacks by limiting the number of attempts to 6 before all data is deleted and the drive is formated back to factory specs. This is a quality product & I have purchased 2 and I am happy with both of them. They both have functioned perfectly and I have allowed them to be security tested and no one has been able to get in.

Use Requires Clear Useage Directions
Steps to get images and text into the unit are not crystal clear. For example, does information have to be burned to a disc first? The low rating owes to not making the unit immediately useable.

Works well, a couple of minor drawbacks
The secure USB works well, the data are encrypted and it's easy to use the unlocking program. I don't like that it only works in Windows and not Linux or a Mac, but that is stated in the product description and not a surprise.I also don't like the security feature that resets and unlocks the drive after 6 failed access attempts, I believe it makes it a target for theft. Anyone can steal the device, enter 6 bad passwords, and the drive resets and they have a factory-new drive. I think it should destroy the data, but then lock the device. I also feel you should be able to set the number higher than 6.Besides those I'm happy with the performance and functionality. The data are secure, and that's whats really important, so that gets it 5 stars.
