A reliable substitute for my Cricut Maker 3,
These HTVRONT 12x12 fabric grip mats as a reliable substitute for my Cricut Maker 3, and they have been an excellent addition to my studio. They are made of a high-quality, non-toxic PVC material that is completely odorless, which I really appreciate when I am working in my workshop for long periods. The stickiness is very effectiveโit grips fabric securely during the cutting process but releases it easily without leaving any sticky residue behind on my projects. These mats are durable and easy to clean, making them a much more cost-effective choice than many other options I have used in the past. They have performed beautifully for all my quilting and fabric projects, ensuring my cuts stay precise every time.

Excellent for the price
Not going to take any stars away for the inches being wrong cos I'm a miniature painter trying not to cut up my desk. It's really good quality, very thin and the metric units are correct; even has circle sizes in millimeters which let's me check the size of my circle bases. The fact it comes with 5 for $15 (sale) is insane. Just don't need to measure anything over 3 inches ๐

Very sticky and Iโm very happy!
The standard mats are very sticky which means youโll have a mat with good adhesion for more than just paper. Iโve owned several Cricut Machines for over 10 years and once upon a time there was only one type of mat.. green..none of this blue, pink, purple stuff that they get you to spend your money on. You had to make do with the green mat for everything. This mat works for chipboard, paper, fabric that has a backing like heat and bond, stencils to mention a few. If you feel itโs too sticky, grab an old worn t shirt or a micro towel anything with very little lint and pat the mat. Itโll take off some of the stickiness. The more you pat the more itโll become less sticky. To me, the stickiness means I donโt have to go to a new mat anytime soon, nor do I have to restick the mat with liquid glue, spray, etc. The markings are the same as the Cricut mats so I donโt expect any issues with it. The thickness of the mat seems to be the same so Iโd think itโll last on average about the same as a Cricut mat. You can bend the mat a bit to get your project off. Not bend it 90 degrees but a nice gentle bend of the mat so that you can at least put your spatula underneath your project. The price is also a winner to me. I tend to have several mats going at once, usually 5 mats; 2-3 for paper, 1 for sticker paper, 1 for vinyl and this pricing makes it easy to replace worn mats. For mats I dedicate for sticker paper and vinyl I pat the mats with a microfiber cloth several times because I donโt want it as sticky as with paper. For cardstock, scrapbook paper I just Pat all around once or twice. If I ever use glitter Paper (which I rarely do) then it gets itโs own mat. Thatโs another tip I have.. donโt use one mat for all types of materials. Each material, ie vinyl, paper, fabric, etc., sticks differently and leaves residue behind differently on the mats. Paper leaves a ton of fiber on the mats even after cleaning them. You then put vinyl on that mat and your wondering why you have little bumps underneath. Also the amount of pressure and cuts will all affect the mats. If youโre looking for a light weight sticky mat try the โnew improved Xenart standard matsโ. Iโve ordered that brand in the past but theyโve recently reformulated their green mats with so little stick that I sent back the order. Personally I hope Htvront doesnโt change their formulation of their mats.

Best Cricut Alternative
Perfect for fabric for the Cricut. Needed it to hold fabric to use with a heat erasable one on the Cricut and this worked perfectly. Easy to get the fabric off of. Canโt beat the price and quality!

WAY too sticky
I bought these specifically for the light grip matt and to have an extra regular mat. After trying out the light grip it was actually sticker than my cricut brand regular mat. Everything I printed would be impossible to get off and tear. I gave up on trying to peel everything off and just left it. Be aware if you buy that these are WAY more sticky than than they should be. I don't plan on using either of them again since they are more of a hassle to work with.
